Re: Normandy: What voices should USA use?
The accent of the PR US voices didn't really exist yet in WWII.
IN short, linguistic phonetics and phonology researchers generally consider the spread of radio and TV after WWII for drastically changing the dialects of various prior regional dialects in the US.
But there is no proper accent for a US WWII soldier, my great uncles were raised in homes speaking Slovak, Sicilian, and German in the home, and they all fought in the European theater. On the other side, what is now a minority regional dialect was actually a near majority in the US military in WWII, a southern/midwestern rural accent with Scot-Irish twang. Some movies, such as Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan did quite well in taking a crosscut of the US invasion force.

Baitin for a hatin Lit.
IMO the current ones sound better because they sound more like shouting, which adds to the immersion when landing on the beach.

I think the current ones fits best, maybe they need some tweaks or maybe modifing them to sound better, but those are the best in my opinion.
