Well African Union Air Force does not exists in real life,
but nor the MEC AF,and the very MEC,
although MEC AF could have decent AF insignia they were not given any love,
and now AU is in the making,and I would not like to see them sharing same fate with MEC.
So one night I couldn't sleep and was rolling in the bad countless times
when suddenly I had vision how PRs AUAF roundel can look like.
I decided to draw few variations of the one.
It took me some time but I slept better after finishing them.
Here are four roundel variations I have made :

And that's it.
Personally I think that last two are lame,but first two are decent.
And yeah I forgot Madagascar (they are suspended from AU anyway).

Also I made some AF Fin Flashes,although I think that AU flag would be best Fin Flash :

That's it.
In the end,maybe AU will not have Jet maps from the start
(my dream is to fly with AUs J7 in PR),but it can use this insignia for Helicopters.
Anyway I would be honored if devs would decide to use something of these,
I would send Hi res versions if they want.

You just got me playing with this The outer circle just needs to be thicker to look more like a traditional roundel.


I've noticed that quite a few african air forces have stars in their roundels, so thought I'd play with that:

Thai Royal Air Force isn't traditional enough ?

I based it on their roundel.

The Norwegian one has a thicker one, it looks a bit better when there is a object inside instead of more circles imo

I prefer the 2nd and 3rd insignias in the first post

I like the one with the AU letters in it the one with the Mig looks cool but its iffy IMO

Where is poll?

Air force Insignia's are suppose to be simple, so other pilots can easily tell what it is. Cant have a complicated ones in OP (maybe with the exception of the 2nd one). Kloppies made some good suggestions mainly the 2nd and 5th are the best.

I agree, simpler is better.

The first with bird , maybe some yellow , and red for the colors a little line arround circle.
