Russians.
Thought about this and I'm not really suggesting that AD+crew should work on this(unless they wan). Just want to let everybody know that there's "isn't" a whole lot of work for a Russian faction if there's anyone who'd like to work on it.
Germans - check
ppsh - check
mosin nagant - check
DP machine gun - check
DShK - check
SKS - check
What is needed.
A map.
Player models/skins.
Pistol? (TT pistol, but i could definitively be ok with a placeholder!)
SVT-38/40? (is it really needed if we got the SKS?)
What is cool to have but isn't exactly needed imo.
Models for tanks and trucks.
It doesn't have be a map with tanks to begin with and trucks, I could do with placeholders there too.
That's all i can think of, so that's 2 things really needed. Major, but what the hell!

Re: Russians.
SKS wasn't widely used in WWII. So, only a small amount was taken to the front in 1945.

Re: Russians.
Anything eastern front would have to include armour, and probably air power too, unless we're talking deep city fighting in stalingrad, or some other city. Admittedly, after playing red orchestra 2 enough, that prospect in project reality sounds incredibly interesting, however it would require A LOT of new statics to be worth it, of which is a lot of work.
If anyone wanted to entertain the idea of another setting in world war 2, the pacific front is probably more doable, although the lack of anything Japanese is apparent, all statics, and even a map or two already exist, along with the americans, including corsairs, or mustangs, landing boats, and a decent stand in carrier exist. You'd need zeros, player models, arisakas, type 99s, and whatever that top loading bren looking japanese auto rifle is. Placeable statics, voices, and land vehicles arent necessary, stand ins exist. As far as I know a JSDF project for PR was initiated some time ago, and a JSDF mod for BF2 exists, perhaps they have voices that are usable.
However, just focusing on americans and germans for now is still not a complete task, and has evidently been a large one, other world war 2 stuff requires more man power

Re: Russians.
I like the current factions for now, and would prefer to have them more developed, IMO
but the main things missing are planes and player models, there is a t34 model alredy that could be used
but as I said for PR I think the current front and the US vs ger gameplay works best, although it would be sweet to have a large 4 km map in the russian country side as I cant think of any replacemnt of that open fields around the western front

Re: Russians.
Making Russians would be fucking easy lol. Just need BGF approval on what we can use or not. But we're busy with Normandy right now.

Re: Russians.
As I said, I wouldn't want the normandy team for this. And for a first map one could simple have a 1km infantry map with trucks, just to have something to play on.

Do they have player models?Pvt.LHeureux wrote:Making Russians would be fucking easy lol. Just need BGF approval on what we can use or not.
EDIT: Yes they do.
Love the moustache.
They seem to have a lot of statics like these ones. Pretty sweet.

Re: Russians.
Well, someone suggested to re-name from PR:N to PR:WWII, but AD said no, probably to don't enter in conflict with other WWII mods and to don't look like that PR is desperately looking for new players.

Re: Russians.
We have permission from BGF for most stuff.
If someone wants to expand Normandy, feel free to do so. I'll help if/where I can, but you propose it = you make it. In other words, it requires someone to actually do shit .

Re: Russians.
Bah, don't turn this into a religious discussion.
There's a church static that can be found in PR and PN and you don't see people shooting the cross out of malice. The images give it a more realistic feel and no one is going to undertake that task even if asked (not to mention the permission to do so).

So much win here.
RO2 feel.

Russians would be really easy to make, just need maps mainly. We got PLENTY of statics (actually most statics we use in PN are russians stuff from BGF.
