Massive lagg N' Pbuster Error

Post by Bohemian »

I don't know what's causing this, I used to play BF2 perfectly with no lagg at all, upgraded to the Project Reality and I suppose it uses the same requirements as BF2 but in game I lagg alot (I might record a video soon) and also an error appear, this error is maybe causing the lagg on the game?

Watched a video on youtube about How to reduce lagg on games and It didn't worked, Help I wanna play <.<

THe PR installer does tend to fragment your PR installation.
The first step, and easiest possible solution is to defragment your hard drive where PR is installed.

Download and run pbsvc.exe from evanbalance
(PunkBuster Online Countermeasures)

Run test and make sure all answers are green (no blue or red)

If it says;

C:\Windows\system32\PnkBstrA.exe NO
Is PnkBstrB explicitly allowed?
C:\Windows\system32\PnkBstrB.exe NO

..then you need to clear both of these executables through the windows firewall, and run the test again.
OR you can disable the firewall: Start --> type firewall --> Windows Firewall --> Turn Windows Firewall on or off

Same goes for any 3rd party firewalls.

When the test comes up all green your all good.
As for increasing your fps, we have some common solutions,
delete the shaders cache in your c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache folder
then
1. defrag your hard drive. the PR and addons installers tend to get fragmented, which slows down read/writes and slows down fps.
2. Download and install IOBit Gamebooster3.
3. Download Bitsum ProcessLasso Free.
-- Start PR, alt tab to desktop, open ProcessLAsso window, right click on PR.exe, TR.exe, BF2.exe, PRMumble.exe and pnkbstra.exe and pnkbstrB.exe and give them default priority status of High, set the Tr PR and BF2 to gaming mode, and give them higher access to RAM.
4. Determine which OS you have, and if it is 32 bit or 64 bit. Once you are 100% certain you know , follow this guide for your OS:

Also, PR has much higher requirements than BF2.

What are your system specifications [hardware and operating system]?

Operating System: Windows XP 2011
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 bits
2.21 GHz n 896 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405 - 512 MB

A crappy pc I know.. So I can play PR with those?

I'll try to do what LIToralis said

Pretty sure those specs are not sufficient for PR, even at low. I play at all low with significant lag and I have

Intel i3 M380
4GB RAM
HD3000 IGP
