Jeep and Kubelwagen overpowered

It seems it's common sense these vehicles, especially as seen in Operation Overlord, are indeed QUITE fast. I haven't seen anyone putting this out there in the forums, so I thought I'd open this discussion.

Shouldn't they be tweaked a little bit, or was this intended to happen? They even seem to resist rough terrain and 'hedgerows' better than monster trucks.

We gave them more "armor" to not get destroyed by the terrain all the time, as was the case during the Brecourt beta.

They will be made "slower" in a next version though.

Actually they used to be super weak to terrain and still are, they might be too resistant to bullets and too fast that's true.

The thing is that I don't think AD knows how to tweak materials totally on vehicles (what can damage what) :?

I would just delete htem, there is no reason to have them ingame.

For transport, MG and ammo use trucks or halftracks, that way you can transport whole squads too. Jeeps are only useful for backflag capping and lone wolfing in games like this, since liason vehicles etc are really not needed. Leave non combat vehicles out of combat simulators.

you do know this isn't FH right?
just wondering ;) , I think the jeep's just need a boost in hp so they don't take so much terrain damage but that's also my fault for the hedges ;P

Whoa, I hope you don't mean horsepower :-P

And I expressed myself wrong. When I said it "resists rough terrain", I was meaning to say these vehicles are able to overcome most obstacles with their amazing acceleration. But they could use a little boost in HP, yes.

There's only two tweaks that need to be made imo.
They need be slower and have more health, so they won't explode when you drive on a bumpy road.

There's a big reason to have them ingame! Like LHeureux said, they are there for ammo, transport and the 30cal. Pretty much the same advantages and disadvantages as the normal cars/jeeps in PR.

I find it OP to have the guys in the back seat of the Kubelwagen able to use their weapons, that way you can have a medic as the driver, MG in the front seat, engineer in the back seat, and a HAT guy in the other back seat. The medic will heal the rest, engineer will repair the vehicle, throw his super-granade, and deploy mines, MG in the front seat will rape trucks, cars and infantry, and the HAT in the back will kill tanks. The HAT and the MG also have backup ammo in the back. It's ok to have the MG guy able to deploy his weapon in the front, but the back seats make the vehicle a lot better than the jeep.
