Sneaky Snakes Group - Recruitment Thread

Hello Gentleman,

Excuse me for the wall of text but I like to explain things with a certain amount of detail as to avoid misunderstandings.

- My PR Background:

I started playing PR around v0.5 and joined a clan called Lost Platoon where I created my first PR recon squad and trained a few of its members. After a while, some of us joined the Official PR Tournament (PRT) in which I participated in 4 campaigns, (C6,C7,C8,C9) in the CATA Team. I left the LP clan in the end of C6 as I did not agree on how it was being managed and I did not join another clan while I was still in the PRT.

I was a grunt in C6 but got noticed for being effective behind enemy lines, so I was invited by the commander to create a specialized recon squad for C7. I created and lead Cougars from C7 to C9 and was also a General Staff Officer (GSO) supporting the CO with bootcamps and squad assigments. I lead the Advanced Logistics & Trainings Division where I developed an extensive list of specialization courses that any player could take.

Around 5 months after the PRT had ended, I accepted an invite to join the 3dAC clan. Once again I created a recon squad, called Panthers, recruited a few members and trained them. After a bit less than a year, I decided to leave 3dAC due to not agreeing on how the clan was being managed (Again). My relationship with the clan members of LP and 3dAC remains as friendly as when I was still a member and I continue to play with many of them on a regular basis.

Over-all, I'm an extremely serious player no matter if I'm playing in a public server or in a tournament. I'm quite strict in terms of structure and standards which is why I tend not to fit in or agree on how most clans are managed. I believe that no matter how skilled, how experienced or how much knowledge you might have, there is always something to learn, to improve, to practice. However, most players tend to stop training after they reach a comfortable level of skill.

- Defining the Sneaky Snakes:

The Sneaky Snakes Squad strives for full effectiveness while operating behind enemy lines as a disruptive force against the enemy's logistics, reinforcements and mortar support, Its main objective is to maintain high survivability while completing its missions.

This is not a clan, it is a group of players that share the same passion for alternative gaming styles focused on covert operations such as reconnaissance, ambush, sabotage, disruptive tactics and, on occasion, logistics. This is not a milsim group as we do not limit ourselves to real life tactics but rather adopt and adapt some of them that might prove useful. We do not simulate any real life unit, we simply enjoy playing in similar roles.

- Alternative Gaming Styles in the eyes of the community:

These roles are unfortunately often seen by the community as lonewolfing, a selfish gaming style that does not help the team in any way. It is common to find "recon" squads created by snipers focused only on killing as much as possible. Those give a bad reputation to the proper recon squads.

A proper recon squad supports its team by reducing enemy reinforcements and armor, disrupting enemy tactics and logistics, sabotaging enemy assets and providing vital intel. This can give a big advantage to a team when done properly but there are only very few players in PR that are truly specialized in these roles and those actually rarely use a sniper rifle for the job.

- Objectives of the Sneaky Snakes:

The purpose of this group is to gather like minded players that truly enjoy playing in these roles and often feel excluded or do not fit into normal infantry squads. This will allow such players to play together in specialized small squads instead of alone, supporting each-other not only while playing but also while training.

This will be an extremely selective group, not only because I doubt we will get many applications but also because most of the applicants will not fit into the requirements. Since this is not a clan, players from different clans and communities can apply to be part of the group. The objective is not only to play together but also to discuss, develop and test new tactics, techniques or tricks and share them with each-other.

We will also be open to invitations to participate and help in other clan's trainings.

We currently have members from 3 different clans. If your clan has a recon squad, feel free to contact us.

If you're interested in joining, please send me a PM.

Regards,

Onil

Go hard or go home. Onil is one of the few with really visionary leadership when it comes to RECON and SABOTAGE missions. The majority of the PR players underestimate the role and power of a proper RECON squad.

Good luck with your Snickers.

cheers,
Curry.

I would say that is mostly because we have very different points of view of how the game should be played.

Thanks for the recommendation though.

Onil is a great guy; really the best when it comes to sneaky stuff in PR. I might not be the best student, but some of his tricks saved my life a lot of times. To be part of a dedicated squad with him however you must be extremely dedicated to this kind of work. If you have what it takes, you will love it and learn so much.

You're killing me by using SERE as a motto.

Thanks Age.

@ SGT.Ice I don't see why using SERE as a guideline would be a bad thing. SERE is a specialized training that focuses on survival above all else and it is quite fitting to the type of squads I always lead. Not just because survival is our primary objective but also because our trainings often include exercises that are somewhat similar to what SERE stands for.

Sure we're not training for the possibility of being POW's but the principles of the SERE training still applies to our way of training and playing.

I met this guy after 1 year and countless hours of PR experience, at a point were I was feeling pretty good with my skills and were I thought to know pretty much everything there is to know about pr. Well i was wrong.

After he recruited us (KiloJules and me) for [3dAC] we had many courses, trainings and tests with a lot of input, and beside the fun we had with it, we improved our skills quite a lot.

So if you want to learn how you best survive in the middle of the enemy team, how to choose your battles, how to best communicate, if you want to feel the rush of beeing heavily outnumbered and still succeeding with your mission and you are not afraid of spending some time preparing yourself and you can deal with constructive criticism - then SneakySnakes is certainly the place for you!

best wishes,

Moe

Thanks for the replies ;)

We already have some allies and will probably organize some combined trainings soon.

I pretty sure however, that it will be almost impossible for me to find suitable squad members (clanless) not only because no-one has applied but also because in all my years of gaming I have only seen very few that would actually fit in and fulfill my requirements ;)

Feel free to take up the challenge though.

We currently have around 8 players, from 5 different clans, as allies of the sneaky snakes group.

We're looking for a very experienced transport pilot to work with us on a regular basis. Specially if we find one that also enjoys these alternative roles.

Cheers

Bump, still looking for a dedicated trans pilot.

We need more applications before making a decision.

I can definately recommend this group! Good to play alongside with them.
Onil is someone that gets things done, so if you're motivated for playing PR focusing on recon with a more serious manner then the average PR player, then this group is for you.

See you on the servers!

Onil knows what he is good in and uses his strenghts effectively. He tries to bring you on his level as good as he can. And even if you are totally sure you knew everything about PR and its mechanics, Onil will teach you better.

If you are a disciplined and dedicated player who likes low-profile gaming with serious and skilled players, then you should come by and try it out.
