Wierd problem with Corrupt Files

Hello all,

I am really pulling my hair out with this one.

I play PR normally and it runs fine on my desktop PC at home, I am currently away from home using my laptop which is more than capable of running PR.

however I keep getting an error when installing battlefield PR0.973 part 1 about corrupt files.

These files came from an install that works fine on my PC so I assumed that they might have been corrupted when I transfered them via USB. So I redownloaded the file and I still get the same error.

I have used MD5Summer to check the hash entries and they are exactly the same as they should be.

I have made sure that my Origin download of Bf2 is patched to 1.5 also.

Any ideas? I have tried shutting down every unnecessary process and I am not using any AV.

Do you have any torrent programs? If you point the .torrent download at your filefront download, it should fix up any errors that have occurred in the download/at filefront's end. It won't have to download everything again, just the broken chunks.

Set the download location to be the same as the existing file's place. They should have the exact same name. I'm off to bed. Good luck

Will it let you ignore the error and continue installation?

Do you have different firewall or antivirus software between home PC and notebook?

If you do or not, try shutting down all antivirus and firewall software , disconnect from internet, and retry to install.

This suggestion is a shot in the dark, really not sure what could be causing this.

Are you using Vista, or windows Server 2008 server 2008r2 or server 2012 ? If so, make sure your .Net framework is up to date.

Other than that, not sure what to say without sitting in front of the notebook.

One more thing, are you trying to install directly from the USB drive?
I'd suggest copying over the problematic part of the PR0.973 installer directly to your C: drive or desktop, and attempt to install as admin from there.
