Seems you've only displayed the diffuse map, the paint doesn't sound metallic at all. ;)

looks good but the paint with the black texture around it make it look like its not really a part of the airplane.

I wouldn't make the lines black, just a darker shade of gray to make it blend better. You could just lower the opacity or smth. Also, you're going to add scratches and metal detail right? This is just to get the pattern down?

Nice work but to me the texture looks far to clean and precise while also looking very flat. Dose it have a spec map and is the normal doing anything?

Newest screens are looking better with the spec etc but still feel that it could use a little dirt on it, even looking at your refs you can see a bit of colour variation. Doesn't need to be much just a little to make the thing look less flat and artificial.
