Hi all!

I have one of these joysticks and this is my first PR play. On load it loads in its own special PR profile that i assume came with the release and its awesome! but i was wondering does anyone have like a button list or something? for some reason the default change weapon command seems to change my view after cycling through all the weapons...any ideas?

Also flying helicopters is odd, only the top 50% of my throttle seems to register...makes fine movments annoying. Also i seem to struggle flying the things, planes im fine but helis are just weird...i play a bit of DCS and its hard to explain, it seems too responsive then suddenly not responsive...odd probably just need more practice im not sure.

You're in the right spot.

I've been playing PR for 2.5 years, I still can't fly the helis,
with DCS experience you'll get it sorted though.

Someone else will have to chime in, I don't own a Saitek.

Hi Stryker, are you using a normal x52 or an x52pro? PR v1.0 only has support for the newer, Pro version with functioning MFD etc. PR Also comes with an x52pro profile that it will automatically apply by default on game launch, but its actually a 100% blank profile which ships with the game so you may want to edit it / replace it with one of yours, or stop it from loading at the game start. You can find the profile in: "....\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\settings\external\x52pro\" with also a "settings.ini" file which you can edit with notepad.

One problem however we found yesterday is that Saitek's code, not ours, which is doing all the MFD and LED stuff etc, is actually screwing around with the profile making things like setting up the main HAT switch with the POV views not work correctly and I've in fact had to disable everything in the settings.ini file in order to get it to work properly again, and having to manually apply the profile on game launch.

I've got a profile currently but its not perfect, since the latest programming software is screwed up to the point where I can't edit the different modes so I've only got one mode functioning right now
Can upload my one as it is right now if you want which the main thing about it is the functioning POVs on the main HAT switch, but ye in order to get that to work you need to disable the settings in the settings.ini file as I said above and it isn't finished yet

As for flying ingame. BF2 is a bit odd on its throttle control. While flying jets or choppers, BF2 has 100% to 50% as its full and no forward throttle, and 50% to 0% as no throttle to full negative throttle / reverse thrust / full throttle on the vertical engine if using a STOVL/VTOL aircraft like the Harrier or MV-22.

And ye, 6, 7, 8 and 9 keys, with alternatives to them too (right clicking when on them) are our "Point of Views" (POV) weapons which you can program up to a HAT switch like I was talking about above. Just press weapon 1, or any other weapon key your vehicle may have (although all jets and choppers will have weapon 1 and possibly not others) to look back forwards again

As for choppers being odd, just need practice to learn them and you'll get it in the end
BF2 isn't the best engine to make a flight sim on so we do what we can with it

Hey mate thanks for the reply, it is indeed the pro and I was mighty impressed when I jumped in a plane and it came up with the grid refs and everything ill see what I can do about mapping my buttons, I have a track ir and I may look into getting that going...
