PR vet from years ago back in it, looking for a team

Post by TallerThanStalin »

Hello!

Who I am, what I'm looking for
I'm Jon, a 25 year old undergrad student of Human Geography (emphasis conflict studies) looking for a team of casual milsimmers who have at least once-weekly regular meets and are friendly, articulate, competitive and remember at the end of the day it's just a game and that civilians are what make Insurgency maps HILARIOUS.

I have decent experience being a team player through years of gaming, military research by hobby/academics and playing airsoft since 2005. I've been involved in several large airsoft operations, have assisted hosting smaller ones and even co founded "Warped Ops" airsoft park in Los Angeles county with a barebones budget and some of my best friends. I think I'll integrate quickly into any team once I re-learn the inputs and reacquaint myself with the basics and recent improvements to PR.

PR AND ME!
I last played PR in 2010 when I had a super gaming rig that I played all the time. It might have been... version .73? I was briefly heavily addicted to PR and had many great evenings on Al Basrah and Korengal valley. I didn't play the blufor/redfor maps too often mostly because I found some of the early clan members a little to hostile to new people and that Insurgency was a much better place to find that perfect mix of team players, a sense of humor, patience and a tolerance for people who were new to the game.

Nowadays I have a bootcamp'd Intel mid 2010 macbook pro that (shocker) runs PR astonishingly well. I gave it a whirl last night and, despite not being able to figure out the local chat button and wishing that there was a logo indicating radio transmitting, I learned that the community has the same capacity to be instructing and eager to new people as it did before.

Where I am
I live, work and go to school in Boulder, Colorado. That means Mountain Time, so I'm looking for Western Americans (north and south) to play with primarily, but love playing with people around the world (PR is astonishingly resistant to high ping.)

My gaming window is usually open from 9pm-1am, though that is flexible. Usually I'll have Thurs-Fri and Sun evenings open, but if I find a good team I'll definitely mold my schedule to accommodate play time!

I hope to hear back from a couple clans and good people. PR is a game that is heavily dependent on community to be entertaining and rewarding, so I am excited to get back into it!

Not milsim, but best clan out there competitive wise.

We're multinational, with a large US playerbase.
