Win 7 64 Bit
----------------
1.4 patch correctly.
Everything is up to snuff.
Clicking the 1.5 patch will bring up the permission tab, I'll click okay, it'll give me a loading icon for a moment and then nothing...
I've waited 20 minutes for something to happen. Nothing.
Multiple re-downloads.
Multiple re-installs.
Multiple restarts.
I'm downloading from gamefront and filefront.
Neither of which work.
It's a retail version of BF2. I did everything in the right order.
PS: Necro'd... 3 years later I've come back to try once again to get this game to work and still no hook.

Re: 1.5 Patch failure to start
I'm looking for 100% certified links for Patch 1.4 and 1.5. I've used the ones from The Official PR Setup Guide. 1.4 works, yes, but 1.5 doesn't.
Everything is wiped... for the 12th time. Registry's and all.
Clean slate.
I have with me a copy of Battlefield 2 Complete Battlefield collection which includes the following IN the following order:
1. Battlefield 2
2. Battlefield 2: Special Forces
3. Battlefield 2: Euro Force
4. Battlefield 2: Armored Fury.
EACH of which have separate install queues so if I need any beyond BF2, tell me now.
Once BF2 is installed... what next? CONCISE order.
Pardon my crudeness. My experience with this mod so far has been less than ideal.
First attempt ever(5/27/10): https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f360-g ... ng-up.html
Second attempt(5/31/10): https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... -time.html
Last attempt(8/13/10): https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f360-g ... -miss.html
After that, I just said to hell with it.
...
I need PRECISE instructions with CERTIFIED download links for EVERYTHING I need other than the core game itself.

Re: 1.5 Patch failure to start
Hiya Don,
Important piece of info here is to find which version of BF2 is on your disk, some very old disks require the 1.21 update before you can do 1.41 full, then 1.5 update. Please please please follow the directions below and post this piece of info in your reply. If your BF2 menu has anything lower than 1.21XXXXX in the bottom corner, stop what you are doing and post back here.
Also, make sure to update your video card drivers BEFORE you start installation, will save you some time if anything goes wonky.

Re: 1.5 Patch failure to start
Right,
you need to go from current 1.02xxx to 1.22 full, to 1.41 full, to 1.5
link to download 1.22 full client patch:
Battlefield 2 Patch - Full Client Files 1.22 Download, Battlefield 1943 Patches
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.
Most of those instructions to join an online game and to reboot are optional, but it stops a weird bug from occurring.
Let us know how this goes for you.

Re: 1.5 Patch failure to start
I'm doing this right now.
I'll will be updating as per needed.
1.22 Installation: Successfully installed.
1.41 Installation: Successfully installed.
1.50 Installation: Successfully installed. (Imagine that... had to save it to the bloody desktop...)
PR Installation: Successful.
Bunch of C++ issues but managed to find a work around... FINALLY working...
Haven't played a game yet but I can make it to the menu. Going to read the manual and attempt a game. Will make my final post(?) on confirmation.
