Everytime I start the game and try to join the Hog server my computer freezes. I have to restart the game always a second time before it will allow me to connect t o the Hog server. Why does this happen when it doesn't happen with any other server I join.

I get this too except I have to wait 20-30 seconds and it stops freezing

In your case ("Uruguay") I would wait for 5 minutes once to test it out.

This is different to what MrBrooks is experiencing. I get it at as well, although I can't recall if it's only on the HOG server or others (CIA) as well... but yeah essentially you click on the server in the browser (just single click, to highlight it) and the game will become unresponsive for about 30 seconds, then spring back into life again as if nothing was wrong. After that everything is fine.

I think it may be an anti-DDoS preventative measure on their part, but I haven't given it much thought.

I've experience this as well. Everything is fine after 30 seconds or so like Psyrus said. I've chalked it up to just one of those quirks about the mod.

It's not connecting to the server that poses the issue, it's refreshing the server in the in-game browser.

This is the first I've read of this , I really don't know what to offer as a soultion, nor even as a troubleshooting approach.

You could try locking down the server favorites and server image cache directories to read only. Not sure what that will do though.

happens to me pretty often when i accidentally mark the server in the browser while trying to join another server (i dont play on american servers). then the whole browser freezes while requesting the ping/player count and all the other data from it After 30-60 secs it unfreezes and displays the data. I shorten this up by alt tabbing twice to get on the desktop and again into the game. That cancels the data request/refresh from the server and unfreezes. Im not sure if this only happened with HOG but for sure this only happened with US servers yet.

Exactly the same problem here.

Its been years before my post but still, any solution?

Have you tried the ones already posted?
