Jet bombing techniques

Post by Zyco187 »

i am a new pilot and just got my extreme 3d pro stick.

I have got the flying and landing part down, now, what is the proper techniques for bombing ? i cant seem to get my bombs to hit on the marker on the test airfield map. also can you explain what the other missiles do on a jet, and their proper use. and anything you would suggest a new pilot do before hitting the servers.

thanks

My recommendation for bombs... go for the lases, always the lases. 100% accuracy and (hopefully) your team will only lase when it is safe to do so. I haven't tried manual bombing in PR... since my first go. Stops you needing to scout for your own targets and allows you to maintain a higher altitude as you no longer have to descend into view distance range which is important for energy in dog fights.

You have the sidewinder/sparrow which are air-air and Mavericks (?) which is used for ground attack (Lase lock-on). Sometimes you have those Russian hydras, light ground attack missiles, not thaaaat great against heavily armoured things but useful for wasting an area of Infantry and are manually aimed so no lock-on.
Haven't flown PR A-10 so unsure if they have hydras as well

Always remember, most times it is who sees the other first that wins the dogfight so keep your eyes peeled :D

Yeah the most important thing is what risegold said at the end, in my opinion. Basically until the enemy jets are down/repairing/rearming, you have to keep a constant lookout or they'll be on your tail and shoot you down in no-time!

Jets are the one thing that in 7 years I haven't been able to master in PR. Back in 0.5 they were much more forgiving and I could handle the A-10 just fine, but in recent years it's quite a struggle to stay up and maintain air-superiority against a decent enemy team.
