Are you running PR at the native resolution? It sounds like your monitor isn't scaling the image, and is just keeping it 1:1 while filling the remainder with black.

Try pasting the support info to be sure. (honestly the support info should be a *strongly suggested* part of all posts in the support forum IMO so we don't have to ask for it every time)
