The first battle cycle of the first campaign for the War of the Factions Tournament. A lot of people have worked hard to make this work, so we want to start off by thanking the technicians and contributors for making this possible, along with the commanders for their valuable input. Finally, a big thanks to the PR community for helping us out when needed! Let us have battles that will be remembered! The first battle will allow us to test a lot of features and processes in our tournament, as well as checking if we are right or wrong about assumptions regarding the rules we have set up. Rules, prices and any part of the tournament is up for change to ensure a fun and balanced campaign, so view this as the maiden voyage of this tournament.
Recruits, veterans and (almost) innocent bystanders.
We wish anyone welcome to our tournament; both the Vikings and the Eurasian Exarchate have room for more brothers in their ranks, and fallen soldier must always be replaced. Follow the links below to their respective Recruitment Post.

The Teams: Vikings versus Eurasian Exarchate
All factions in Project Reality has been divided between the two teams. The Vikings have access to all NATO factions in the game, along with associated forces, while Eurasian Exarchate have access to the insurgent and eastern factions. The signups are still open for both teams!

The idea behind the War of the Factions ("WotF") is simple, and borrows mechanics from the real time strategy genre: the commanding officers choose what faction they want to use, along with which vehicles they want to field for a certain battle. Every asset costs a certain amount of points, and whatever points are left after the CO's have finished shopping is used as tickets during the actual battle. To add further depth, commanders may also adopt different doctrines, such as fixed wing, armor or mechanized infantry, which alters the cost of certain assets. There are of course some map limitations, because it's pretty damn hard to land a F16 on Fools Road, but other than that the possibilities are almost endless.
The goal
Both teams will try to push the other out of the campaign map. Whichever team is pushed out loses making the other the tournament champions. Several battles will be fought giving the defender a bigger advantage in both the ability to choose the next map as well as more tickets available for the asset purchases and the battle itself. To win the team has to make sure they win with enough ticket advantage to keep the rounds balanced, as well as win on what will be the defending teams attempting to gain advantage on both starting position and map selection. It will not be easy and this tournament require you to want to win. Players will need to know the ins and outs of the Project Reality vehicles, weapons and maps.
