2 questions about PR

1st is Pr single threaded? Thinking about upgrading to quad core but that won't benefit me if PR only uses 1 core.
2nd when I got to my options and use the drop down to change my resolution no matter what setting I select and apply it never changes, how do I fix that?
I'm using a GTX 460 SE on a 30 in LCD monitor .

On the first point, yes.
On the second point, I have to ask, are you usin the PR launcher to edit these settings? If you don't use the launcher to change them, it won't work.

I'm not sure what pr launcher is, I just click the pr icon and it takes me to screen where it's list

So with pr being single threaded , which CPU would give me a better performance ?

Thx for the input guys, one more question
From the time I click "play" it takes 66 seconds till I see the screen where the internet , co-op screen is. Just see a black screen , is that a from the slow CPU or the hdd?

That's mostly from the slow HDD.
try defragging the drive, the BF2 and PR files are stored in very large compressed zip files, when those files get fragmented it significantly slows down the loading of the game, and the loading of each new map.

The time when the blackscreen is visible PR is trying to log into your account on the master server. If you remember the time you waited when logging into GameSpy back then via BF2 in the login menu ingame you will notice it took the same amount of time. Thats exactly the process that is happening during the BS. Cannot do much about it to improve it.
