error 1322 error verifying

i have tried a few things that i have found to fix this error. i have tried to delete my documents\project reality directory and i have tried to even go to the file and go into the folder properties and change the files from read-only. when i did change the read only to off it always reset. how do i fix this error?

delete your profiles folder located in documents/projectreality

then go to your root PR directory and run 'prbf2'

it should prompt you to run using the launcher

your game should be working fine using the launcher at that point. if not, report back with system specs (launcher>support>copy paste here)

try this exactly again

go to C:\Users\Caden\Documents\ delete 'project reality'

open launcher

for the sake of testing, make a new account

then go to options and only change your resolution, then try going in game

if you still have this error:

do you have any AV? what is it? make sure prbf2.exe prlauncher.exe and prmumble.exe are whitelisted

and yes i do hagve a laptop. i followed ur instructions exactly unless this program is not the launcher u are talking about

my profile does have all the correct files.

and here is a picture of the C:\Users\Caden\Documents\ 'project reality' folder. u can see the read only option, and when i tryu to change that it always resets back to the default read-only on setting

disable your anti virus for the time being, i suspect that might have something to do with this

after you do that, try to disable it from being read only.. make sure you apply and ok

if that doesn't work, delete the folder and run the launcher again (without changing settings) and run a local map if you can

at this point you should be given a new profiles folder that isn't read only


there is another trick, although this requires space on you disk (which you have plenty of)

1. In My Documents/Documents delete 'ProjectReality'
2. In Program Files/Project Reality/mods/, copy 'pr', paste it and rename the copy to pr_edit
3. Run pr_edit by going to the bin folder, and double-click on PRLauncher.exe
4. Retrieve the account you want to use again, and launch it
5. Create any local game and join it. This is to build the profile. Exit.

how exactly do i start a local game? i am doing the second trick u gave me (one that u quoted). i have my account retrieved and launched (in game menu where i have all the options of starting a game?) and i am on step 5. how do i make a local game?

launching the game essentially, if you get that far. once you're in you go to deployment and create local

if you managed to get the game started past the launcher then your issue should be fixed

what do you mean every file on your computer? if all your files on your hard drive is read only, then you have greater problems than trying to run project reality..

is your user full admin?

you can try doing the following in command prompt (run as admin, of course)

attrib -r  "C:\Users\Caden\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles*.*" /S /D

that command should make your profiles page unread only.. although if it doesn't work, sounds like you're having a security/permissions issue or even a virus.. i would do a scan ASAP

another way is right clicking on project reality and go to properties, security, and make sure your user has full control

i recommend you do some research of your own and figure out why your computer is making files read only and try to fix it, that would explain why all the methods i tried to get you to do to fix your issue wouldn't work because it's stuck on read only.

if that command does work and makes that folder unread only, redo the steps i told you to do and go from there

have you done a full scan with your AV?

is every file on your computer read only? check random folders in program files

i have done a full scan with my mcafee, nothing, my folder is there, and yes every file. in my C:\ D:\ and even if i create a folder on my desktop is read only.

this will edit your registry to give you the option of adding full admin

run it and accept anything

right click on project reality folder in desktop, take ownership

untick read only

repeat the steps explained in the thread

if that doesnt work.. i'm afraid not much i can do.. this is more of a PC problem than PR. you should eventually be able to find the reason as to why it's doing that if you do some research.. i don't know if its a virus or if you permissions are screwed up.. if it's the later, that link i provided should be a temp solution

I am also having an issue.

My game was working perfectly. I did not play for a couple months.

Last night, I logged in under my primary name. It worked fine. I exited.
Then I logged into my alternate account to check mumble. Got 1322 error.
Then I tried logging into my primary account. Got 1322 error.
I followed the error directions of removing "read only" settings from the profile folders.
Tried logging in both accounts. Got 1322 error.
I noticed that the Profile folders defaults back to "read only" no matter what I do.

Deleted accounts. Retrieved accounts.
Tried signing in. Got 1322 error.

Uninstalled.
Re-installed.
Made sure all PR files/profiles were removed.

Logged into my primary account. no problem.
Tried logging into my alternate account. 1322 error.
Then I tried logging into my primary account. 1322 error.

Today, I made my alternate account, my primary account. Tried signing in. Got 1322 error.
Then, I tried logging into my new alternate account.... No problem.

It appears I can log into a specific screen name account. But why can't I log into the other account?

I am running this game as administrator. Have never had this problem before and my computer specs have not changed in 3 years.....other than win7 updates and PR updates

any help would be appreciated.
