I was told here to make a forum topic about my issue as no other fixes seem to work.
PRmumble: When going through the audio config, the automated voice that is supposed to speak doesn't. When going to the mic test with the blue section, it actually works. When testing what should be actual speech, I can't speak out of the red. Then the headphone test is completely silent.
In game: No matter what server I join with only one exception, no one could hear me and I couldn't hear them even if mumble showed me as talking and connected. In that one exception, I could hear others but again no one could hear me. I could reset mumble and it would still continue with this problem
Stand-alone Mumble: The audio configuration for this does actually work, it just doesn't wish to connect to the lobbies that I go to.

Re: PRmumble & Stand-alone Mumble
I've never used the wizard
1. Go to windows playback devices & recording devices by right clicking on the speaker icon - check that the device you are using for gaming is selected - this must be done before launching PR any changes done after launching don't apply. Check the microphone is heqring stuff shout at it and confirm the green bars jump up and down. CHECK MIC ISN'T MUTED on the switch.
2. From launcher (options/mumble/launch - but dodgy for me since w10) or better still in game alt tab and find mumble down on the system tray mostly as a hidden icon.
3. In Mumble window go to configure/settings/audio input and check the right device is used it's not always clear so try a few different - I have microphone and default microphone works fine with default - go figure.
4. Then check audio output and try others

Re: PRmumble & Stand-alone Mumble
Sadly this didn't work, though with playing around with the bindings, I found Mumble doesn't work well with my mouse bindings so I switched them to v and b, but the problem is now the in game mic test doesn't register my mic even though mumble is set to be using it.

Re: PRmumble & Stand-alone Mumble
The in game Mic test is for the old no longer used BF2 voip ignore it. Just see if mumble works in game, whilst in game check the settings and use whatever bindings you want. Mine is on mouse sound buttons.
All the in game com's is only changed from mumble in the system tray 'll the other stuff is switched off on all servers.

Re: PRmumble & Stand-alone Mumble
I see. Well I still have the issues of not being able to hear anyone and I don't believe they hear me. In one game (After an issue with misclicking a keybinding as setting it as mouse 1) one player believed I was trolling each time I fired after I typed that I may have messed up with the keybindings. So it may just be on my end that I can't hear anyone now.

Are you using a USB or 3.5mm headset?

4. Then check audio output and try others.
5. Do you have a crossed out speaker icon in the bottom right when playing?
6.Go to any online server to test even an empty one, once you are seeing the grren and blue when you press the right buttons you then need to try it on someone. DEFAULTS are numberpad 0 for squad voice and H for local. You have a HP DV7 laptop? Do you have a numpad?
