Mic showing up everywhere but Mumble

For reasons I don't feel like explaining, the only microphone I have that I can use is an Xbox One controller headset that I can connect to my PC by plugging the headset into a controller and plugging said controller into the USB jack. Now, this configuration works. I tested it on my browser, I tested it through the device manager, through the voice to text setup, through other games (TF2 in this case) and it works fine in all those. When I speak the audio levels spike, indicating that the computer and all these programs can indeed hear me.

But when I try it in PRMumble, nothing. I tried all the typical stuff like setting it as the default device, running PR as admin, going into the Mumble settings and trying all the inputs. Nothing works. The wizard shows no sound input coming in, even though if I set my computer to play back the mic input through the speakers at the same time I can hear myself talking. So clearly the issue has to be with the Mumble client but I cannot figure out. Any ideas?
