I'm looking to custom build a pc for myself, something as cheap as I can make it, all the while still having the capability to play most modern games on at least medium settings at 35-40 fps. Please give me any input on my build, any mistakes I may or may not have made or an alternative to my build that is more powerful(cheaper) etc. Keep in mind my accessories(keyboard, mouse) fit into the price. Thanks in advance.

Got my case from the dump..... Save $40 spend it on a i3 6300 and an openbox GTX950? More uptodate DX12 too runs squad OK!Looks nice otherwise. sure you can t stretch to a cheap *** SSDfor OS and your favourite games of the moment?

If you spend 20 more you can have an i3 6300 with a H110 1151 motherboard, not much changeexcept being more up to date and probably 10-20% faster, although the 750Ti will be limiting the FPS, but mainly because I find myself having great problems finding a decent 'old' 1155 mobo making my excellent 2500k nearly obsolete....

Bear in mind that with the 10 series GPU upon us older ones of which the 700 series is should bet cheaper. I saw a open box 950 for $20 more than the cheapest 750Ti... BUt where do you stop with 20 here and there?

I don't really know that much but I am of the opinion where virtually all games don't make use of a 4 core CPU, all the background stuff on your computer does, I'd expect if using a dual core to shut down as much stuff as possible when gaming that you don't need.

Last bit of advice buy w10, or win8 if u must, RETAIL from MS store that way it isn't hardware locked if you end up changing anything in its lifespan. Shops are awful selling OEMs they really shouldn't plus as a consumer we are getting swindled - even costs more too!
