Hello guys, this year im going to university and so I'm purchasing a gaming laptop as I'm going to live away from home.

The laptop which I'm considering buying has a 6700HQ and a GTX960M. I know one guy that has a 960M and has issues playing PR due to the GPU not recognizing PR (?).

Does anyone here play PR with a 960M? Do you have any issues with it? How many frames do you get on average?

Thanks

Hey man !
The gtx 960M has the same performance as a gtx 750ti on desktop , and 6700HQ is a pretty good CPU for gaming , So you should be alright ! the only problem as you mentioned is that PR may won't get recognized by your graphic card driver , which will result a really terrible FPS ! in that case you will have to manually add PR to your NVidia driver program settings , so it can use the correct GPU when you're playing !
Here is how it work :
Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel by right clicking on your desktop and clicking on "NVIDIA Control Panel".
In the default screen that pops up (it should be "manage 3D settings", and the "Program Settings" tab should be automatically selected), under "1. Select a program to customize:" hit the "Add" button.
From here, navigate to the PR main folder !
Find the PRBF2.exe , Select it and hit open.
Then, under "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" open the drop-down menu and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor".
Finally, hit apply in the far bottom right corner, and you should be good to go !

cheers
SAM

Seen a lot of people with multi GPU laptops having problems forcing PR onto the good one.

Exactly :)

I know one person who has failed to force the good GPU on his laptop, and another person who has succesfuly done it, so this will be a bit of a gamble. If I fail, I'll just bring my PC to my apartment, fuck it.

Hey, I have this same graphic card myself (960m) and it will run just fine for you. Yes, what Sam609 said is what I did as well. :)

Honestly, I've never measured how much fps I get, but it is very lovely on high settings and 4x anti-aliasing.

Best regards,
