New PC's proposed specs

Hello,
i would like to know if this configuration is suitable for gaming and video editing for 5 yrs ahead.

Motherboard:

Sabertooth Mark 1 and i7-6700 are cheaper than the other options.

6700k is very good for gaming and video editing, but if you doing daily video editing i say get more cores because today software enabled to use more cores. Or wait until Intel Kaby Lake or AMD Ryzen released that i believe on Q1 2017 (if you patient enough)

Lol no, most programs today have issues utilising Hyperthreading. Don't get me started on games, there are almost no games that properly utilise Hyperthreading.

Buying an i7 6700K over a i5 6700K should ONLY and ONLY be done if:

1.) You don't care about how much money you waste whatsoever
2.) You are a video editor/renderer/streamer

That's it, that's literally all. If you just play games, get an i5.

The difference in minimum frames can be pretty big and 4 cores isn't going to last him 5 years. OP you should wait for AMD Ryzen in Q1 2017, look at the prices and choose then. If you're doing video editing etc. then a good 8 core will be much more valuable to you, even if you sacrifice 10% in gaming.

Seeing as how gaming and graphics in general are advancing so quick and fast, neither of this will last him 5 years. You should be upgrading if possible every 2 - 3 years not 5 years. This can last him 5 years in the literal sense. The truth is that new CPU's are being designed and released very soon which will render his and my shit obselete in only 2 years from now or so.

Also core argument is irrelevant beacuse Intel has a massive per-core performance which is exactly why an overclocked 6600K i5 is as good as it's i7 counterpart, in gaming.

I said 5 years because,My current PC is 5 years old and it works fine for editing large 1 hour documentaries say at 720 or 1k resolution,though takes hours to render.I won't matter after 2-3 years as yeah tech keeps progressing doesn't means,it would be much of need.And believe me in India people keep using old computers and they just serve the purpose, like here people still use Win XP on 1~2 Gbs of ram for simple simulation programs and what not simple things like for editing text in MS word,etc.

But For a gamers perspective, i would say, that upgrading the graphics card works rather than upgrading the CPU for that matter alone.
But yeah all in all, should buy a brand new one, every 2~3 years, because that shit is tempting.

well since your last reply on april, you should get that Ryzen 7 perfomance in video editing, but if you are more into gaming sessions, well Intel performs better

EDIT :

Reminder, only intel K or X support overclocking with Z170 or Z270 or X99 chipset
all Ryzen 7 or 5 cpu support overclocking with X370 or B350 chipset

i5 has real physical cores, i7 does too but more of them are 'logical' cores, which marketing LOVE to purport as physical. Get i5, otherwise choose AMD .
