Stuttering

Hello,

I'm having some issues with PR.

My rig: Dell Inspiron 5675
Ryzen 7
AMD Radeon RX580
8 gigs of RAM
Samsung NVME m.2 SSD (256 gb)

Running Windows 10 64-bit. Fully patched.

Drivers are all updated. Every other game runs as smooth as butter with consistent 60+ FPS.

My problem in PR is that every 12 seconds I get a noticeable stutter. This happens EVERY 12 seconds to a T. I pull up task manager and look at performance tab and notice that every time this stutter happens my C: drive (PR installed on here) is accessed and PR hiccups.

I tried PR on another SATA SSD and the same problem happens, although the stutter is less intense.

I don't have this problem with any other game and I never had this stutter before on my older system. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I don't have a solution for you because I have no experience with Ryzen (yet). But if you google "ryzen stutter" it seems to be a common problem, especially with older dx9 games.

Off the top of my head you could try disabling any downclocking/power saving features of both your CPU and GPU. (High Performance Power Plan in Windows 10 and whatever the corresponding setting is in your GPU's GUI)

Also make sure you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard.

And just to make sure: Is vsync off?

add 8 giga ram maybe? so you have 16 giga ram strongly recommended
