Placing C4 on the sidearmor of the tank is pretty useless. REAR armor is the thinniest part of a tank.
The c4 isn't designed to take out tanks. Time to plant the c4 is 14.9 seconds.
Next time when you try to be the "ActionJackson", you should plan your C4 actions better and press earlier the leftclick and than ran to the tank.

I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter which part of the tank you place it on, since the armour values are for impact damage rather than explosion damage.

Maybe someone who actually knows about this stuff can confirm.

Confirmed, radial damage only takes into account a single material.

Correct, the DefaultMaterial. Wasn't thinking about that but doesn't matter.
Large C4 can not kill or disable tanks because the DevTeam doesn't want it.
would you teach me something more about PR please?
Only way to stay up to date is reading the patchlogs. Maybe next patch or later patches we are able again to kill tanks with large C4.

You never know.

Coop use both kind of tanks. The regular ones and the sp versions (driver/gunner same person).

The characteristics, armor materials, HP, speed, weapon damage etc. are the same. Only the botjets and bothelis handling is different because bots cant handle PR's chopper and jet physics. But you will notice when you enter on of them. You get a blackscreen.

Coop replaced the trainingmode. Different characteristics would affect the learning progress in a negative manner because you would get a wrong picture of the vehicles and weapons.

Do the same again and stay inside AS DRIVER in the tank and the tank will not explode. Check the 5 seconds after the C4 explosion.
You damaged the tank and nobody was in the driver seat. In coop, damaged vehicles without driver have a faster bleed as in deployment.

Could be also another reason like you found a bug.
I will look later if the SP varaint is different as the standard one.

Sure i'll try it for you. Before that i have another question for you:
Can two small C4s sparkle a tank ?

That's the last feedback about the C4 power. I checked all changelogs started with 1.3.5 till the current one.
In no changelog i read anything about C4 buff.

That is one part i hate in coop. This extra bleeding when you get out of the vehicle.

Sometimes, in coop, when the objectspawners Radius/or Distance, not sure atm. which one was it, has a low Radius/Distance setting and you get out of the vehicle only, for excample, to resupply by the dropped ammobox, the vehicle takes damage and blow up.
Shitty situation when you play on a big coop map when the vehicle desintegrates in front of you, ends in long walks.

I wish, the extra bleeding for moderate damaged vehicles in coop get one day removed. Also in coop people try to help/repair dissabled vehicles from teammates.

Another question :

Exist there a modern satchel charge'ish explosive attachable device that is designed for anti vehicle warfare?
In WW2 for sure but how it looks today or back the last 20 years?

In my opinion you deserve the kill when you are able to place the big C4 on an enemy tank.
Such HEROIC actions changes the situation of a whole round.
