Error "Your CD-KEY is not valid." when joining a server

Hello, guys.
I'm not actually dealing with this problem, but my friend is. He is trying to join a brazilian server to play with us, but when he clicks to join the server, this error appears on his screen. I know that a patch has been released to fix this CD-KEY error, but it seems it didn't fix this error properly
