Game doesn't start and PRLauncher disappears

Used to play this game on the same rig a year ago, decided to try it out again-
downloaded the .iso file and got through the installation clean, updated the game to the latest version. After that when I launch the game the PRLauncher just closes and deletes itself. Tried to launch the game through projectreality.exe, works, but I can't play since the game isn't launched through the launcher.

Ran as adminstrator, tried a clean reinstall, both to no avail.

If it "deletes itself" then it's your anti virus.

didn't have my antivirus on

restarting pc after installing and after updating, aswell as running the game windowed on first launch fixed the problem

A rare issue, but in Windows 7, if you have .exes that refuse to be replaced/deleted/moved right after running then you need to enable Application Experience in services.

Blame microsoft.
