Ayo newbie here :D , anyways i installed PR yesterday and decided to try it out, got hooked, read the rules and stuff, said i need a working mic, im like aight i kinda got that, so i brought a headset that aint mine and did an all nighter of PR, the next day, gotta give the headset back, but i got my own pair of headset thats old and stuff, they are working(I can hear the sounds and the mic is working((Did the configure mic thingy hence why its working)) so i get into the game start talking and i cant hear anyone, i see myself speaking and stuff but i cant hear anyone else, they say that they hear me but that i cant hear them, tried to fix this by restarting my computer, exiting mumble while IG, fiddling with the mumble settings and stuff and still nothing, ive googled and googled and found no solution, i stumbled across a post that said a dude got a pair of headset and his mumble stopped working and i thought that i have the same problem so how do i fix this?

Make sure your mumble isn't muted in any way (f.ex. by volume up/down buttons).
If that's not the case, make sure that the mumble detects your headphones and actually has them assigned as an output.

Kay so i did some testing and stuff , my mumble is not muted, people can hear me and ive checked it for like 1000 times that if im muted or others are muted and no they aint so what i did was that instead of putting the output in my headset i put it on my built in speakers(Laptop)
and boom i can hear everybody, so how do i fix this so i can hear people with my headset?

edit: tried to put the output on my headset and silence cant hear anyone.

edit2: So i just figured out i dont even have to go IG to test out if mumble will work or nay, so i tried every output setting with the headset and nothing works(I test by going to the audio wizard and to the "This is a blabla" to test out if i can hear anything.

edit3: The problem is still not fixed so all options to fix the problem are welcomed :D .

running windows 10? if so, in SETTINGS > PRIVACY >> MICROPHONE >>> Change "Microphone access for this device" to ON ---- also further down the page ALLOW APPS TO ACCESS MY MICROPHONE = ON (you can individually disabled all the MS-Store garbage access and mumble will still work as its not from the MS store)

I had this problem, when by default I deny windows 10 "apps" access to anything, never had a problem until PR MUMBLE was needed :P

doh I read the post wrong, you can MIC out but not recieve through your headset, --- this might work if its a USB heatset and considered a voip headset not just headphones

anyway, if its considered a voip headset you should just be able to push all sound through that, not just voice in the sound settings menu in windows 10

I checked the settings and everything was already the way you wanted me to make, at the bottom theres no mumble or anything PR related tho, just windows 10 stuff like skype edge etc etc. So this problem still aint fixed :/

edit: I made a video of the audio wizard sadly im retarded and dunno how to make obs show the audio wizard lmao anyways the first few seconds show you pretty much nothing and then after several seconds you hear a sound "This is an example of speaks" So what i did there was, the first few seconds i used my headset(Changed the output to my headset) and clicked next and i heard nothing, then i changed the output to my laptops speakers and boom you can hear the "This is an example of speaks" the output is the problem why i cant hear any other peoples VOIPs IG.

ah its a laptop! ok, the laptop probably has a FN key combo that switches from laptop mic/speakers to dedicated output -- have a look!!!
