PRTA Presents: Contact! A Project Reality Tournament

We are thrilled to announce the return of PRTA's Project Reality tournament Contact!. The aim of this tournament is to provide a competitive, friendly, and enjoyable tournament experience for everyone wanting to join. Our aim is to set up two teams; with commanders who will build, oversee and command teams fighting bi-weekly to be the best in PR.
How will it work?

To start off, there will be two teams, fighting over the course of 2 preparation and 6 regular battles. Battles will occur every other week with teams getting points added towards their total based on their performance. The preparation battles will not count towards winning the tournament, but give teams the ability to fix any problems they may have before the official start of the tournament.

What factions and maps would we play?

This will not be like your conventional PR game. We will use vanilla maps with custom assets pre-determined to ensure balance. So you might see Israel vs China on Muttrah with both sides having a tank or Germany vs France on Kashan with 6 tanks on each team. These are just two of the thousands of possibilities we have to work with. All the maps are made in an easy to download file which is available for everyone to download and install.

What are the victory conditions?
While the victory of the battle is decided by who has more tickets, the tournament victor will be determined by the total amount of points. The amount of points a team gets for each battle can be figured out by an equation that takes into account the amount of tickets won by and flags held. An example can be seen here.

What has changed?
There were a lot of changes made to the tournament this offseason and more in-depth information can be found on the rules page. However, here is a quick list of a few things that have changed;

Clans - are now allowed to participate as a full squad together on the same team. Each team will only be allowed the same amount of clans. After that, the restriction will be applied on all others who apply as a clan.

Disclaimer: Just because you apply as a clan, does NOT mean you to be one of the team's clan squad. The commanders will choose who their squads will be, and to increase your chances of becoming one it is recommended you get in contact with the commander before applying.

Discord - Each team will have their own separate discord server where day to day managing and communication will take place. Attendance will also be tracked via discord, so for everyone who plans on participating discord is a requirement. If you do not want to download discord you do not need to and can use it in your browser and have the same functionality as someone with the app, you can find that here.
Revamped Campaign System - Last year the emphasis was mainly on flags which was said to undervalue tickets. This year we made it so tickets have a larger impact on the overall campaign, while at the same time we ensure flags maintain their influence. We have also decided that teams will be rewarded for taking flags and punished for losing flags. More information can be found on this image:

Different Maps and Factions Match ups - while the prep battles may generally remain the same the maps we play throughout the campaign will be completely different along with the factions we use.
