Hello.
I played the game on this laptop from october and no issues at all.
From last week i got this simptom
I open BF2 Launcher , and from there PLAY .
After some seconds, the image is going black , the music of the games starts, the BF mouse logo is appearing and that is it. Nothing else is happening. I can move the mouse around the screen.
In the same time , on Task manager the game is appearing as NOT RESPONDING.

I unninstall the game , install it back , and the same simptom.
I run windowed game and the same simptom, no error, no crashing , nothing.

In the properties of the shortcut i put at compatibility Run this program as an administrator , Run this program in compatibility mode for windows 8 , and no succes.
What else should i try ?


i have the latest version of the game 1.5.5.3

Something blocking loopback networking.

Firewall, port stolen, or "localhost" overwritten in hosts file.

I turned off firewall , nothing changed, i chech the hosts file , localhost is ping-ing back as

C:\Users\aaaa>ping localhost

you said about "port stolen" which port does PR is using ?

no , not pinging localhost , i think he meant about the hosts file inside the C:/Windows/

the host file is OK, is not modified.

I have no idea, sorry.
It tends to get stuck here when failing to connect to the master server, in the last version it connects to a dummy master server sitting on the launcher.

I resolve my issue.
This laptop has 2 video cards
Intel UHD Graphics 630
Nvidia Geforce.

I set up that the prlauncher.exe & prbf2.exe to use Nvidia video card.
Now is working fine, like before.

If you are running a discrete graphics card, you should disable the integrated graphics through your BIOS settings. You'd not run into issues like this, and there is no reason to use integrated graphics if you have a graphics card already - any displays should connect through that. The IGP uses CPU power to drive displays, a job your dedicated GPU can handle.

One or the other, not both...

Also, turn off "run in compatibility mode for Windows 8" - that is totally unnecessary, not sure if it could cause issues, but best to turn that off. BF2 (which PR was build upon) was a Windows XP program, for the record. But it has been compatible with latest Windows OS for quite some time.
