Running PR_BF2 on Win XP ( offline ) - It can work

I was curious ( since I noticed PR_BF2 v1.6 was out )
if I could get it to run on Win XP ( SP3 ) .

I completely saved my install of PR BF2 v1.5.5.3 to my storage hard drive .

I moved it out of its install directory ( for safe keeping ) .

I then ( clean ) installed PR_BF2 v1.6 into PR_BF2 v1.5.5.3 directory .

Trying to run the PRLauncher produced this error log ( halt - NO launch ) .

pr_bf2-1.6-ERROR.log

In experimentation ,
I finally removed the contents of the ..mods\pr\bin folder ,
and replaced them with the contents from the v1.5.5.3 ( bin ) launcher folder .

If launched ( with the PC internet connection enabled ) ,
Doing Co-Op --- Create Local -- Merville map -- Deploy ( wait, wait , wait )
--- Select Squad ( for Side / Kit / Spawn )
the following error ( halt ) is displayed :

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SYzcjoL1YY5Wfrx-5Weq5kNADy6Fo5jA/view?usp=sharing

about being unable to connect to PRLauncher .

( BUT )

If launched ( with the PC internet connection DISabled - before launch ) ,
Doing Co-Op --- Create Local -- Merville map -- Deploy ( wait, wait , wait )
--- Select Squad ( for Side / Kit / Spawn )
the following screen is displayed :

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1svSM4bsyL3qYCdv2FKRIZ6ABy_y2h2zL/view?usp=sharing

from which You CAN select side / kit / and spawn point .

Merville was a real " Grizzly Bear " to play using " iron sites " in tall grass ,
and enemy BOTs seemed to have Super Vision
while I tried making my way through the tall grass
( they seemed to see me -- but I couldn't see anything ) .

Attempt at online play fails ( using PR_BF2 v1.5.5.3 Launcher ) --
probably because DOT.NETframework 4.5 was used
when compiling this PR_BF2 Update .

I'm glad to see ( at least ) I can still play NEW maps offline .

Thanks for the Great Work done on this Project .

Windows XP is no longer supported and it may break playing completely without any warning. I suggest you upgrade.
