Menu freezing intermittently every 10 seconds unless tabbed out

I haven't played in a while but PR is giving me this issue where the intro movie freezes then I have to tab out and tab back in to get it to go back,
the cursor can still move during freezing.
This problem happens with other battlefield 2 mods. It does not happen with Battlefield 2 vanilla. Just constant freezing, but not the cursor.
