mumble problem - my mic isn't muted but it seems like it is?

Heyo, Tr3kker here... this problem has me pretty stumped. I've been playing PR for years and mumble has worked fine, haven't made any changes to my PC recently, this started intermittently before the recent update, continued to be intermittent after the update, then yesterday it stopped working altogether. By intermittent I mean, it'd be working fine one night, then the next night I go on and at first it's messed up, and then with some fiddling around, it starts working and is fine until I go on again the next day.
So the problem is, it's like my mic is muted, but it totally isn't. I can hear everyone fine, in squad and local. My name comes up when I hit the H or B keys, but nobody can hear me. In Windows and in Mumble, my voice is coming through just fine (the mumble wizard works, the Windows Sound control panel registers input coming through the channel, the "listen to this device" function puts it through and it sounds okay)... but it won't work in game.
The fiddling around that I did to get it working before was stuff like changing what input it was going into, changing Mumble's settings to take that input, switching it back and forth, and after a bit of that, it'd start working again. I think some of the time I had to exit the game, load it back up, mess with mumble from the launcher, and launch the game again for it to work, and other times it was sufficient to alt-tab, open mumble while the game was still going, close mumble, quit it through the task manager, and let it start back up. I can't totally remember.
At some point recently, I had a power outage while I was playing, so my computer lost power and came back on, but mumble did work when I powered my PC back up. So I don't know whether that has anything to do with it. I can't remember whether that was before this all started, or during the week or so when it was intermittently messed up.
I thought maybe my mic was just old and crapping out, so I got a USB headset and tried that, and that's when it went from being difficult to get it working when first starting up the game to being just totally impossible. Doesn't work through the headset, doesn't work through my old mic which uses normal analog audio inputs on my PC.
I don't have any antivirus software... and like I said, nothing has happened with my PC recently. No updates, nothing. So weird.
Here's my specs:
