I'm new, is it possible to record offline practice missions?

Hello Admins, I'm new to the game and absolutely love it! I'm reading the manual and going through the practice offline missions to learn the game before I attempt to go online. I was wondering if it is possible to record offline practice missions using the battle recorder thingy? I only know about the battle recorder because I saw the replay section. I'm on a new computer, but the damn thing only has 4 meg of ram! Yes, my friend bought it for me, and well, ya gotta be grateful because he was trying to help. Anyhow, also I don't see a place to create a new server. I overwrote the server name and created a password, hope I did right.
So those are my two questions, at least for starters. I want to be able to record my practice offline missions (if possible) and I would like to know if there is a way to create a new server as I don't see a button to allow me to do so. I ended up renaming the standard one and creating a password, but still saw the orange warning at the top that the servers are unstable so I need to create my own.
I just want to do everything right and be a member among members. I appreciate all of the effort that you gentlemen and ladies if applicable put into the awesome game and I will bring in new people as I can. I will donate and encourage others to do so. You know, if everyone would donate just one dollar, it would make a differance and let me lead by example. You can't record offline sessions as far as I know.
