mouse disappear and game goes hang after trying to deploy in a server

Post by RTA_Soldier »

i'm not sure what to do anymore. my house suffered a blackout, and laptop drained battery so fast it locked down. when power back on, i return to see the game hang, so i close it and try to start the game again. but, when i select deploy to play in an online server, mouse disappear, music fade out, and the screen just... stay there. no change. no dogtags cursor that supposed to show up in few seconds.

so, simple words: the game freeze after clicking deploy, to online server. tried any advices, no joy.
weird thing is, i can still play offline. so i can't even play online anymore, so i need urgent help, pronto.

Try resetting your profile, or delete the ProjectReality folder in Documents, then, retrieve your profiles again, might be corrupted data when the laptop suddenly lost power.

Did you ever run SFC with DISM steps, and Safety Scanner, as I had suggested in Discord? Your Windows OS may be porked following that crash, and these tools can help identify this so they can be repaired. It's all quite straight-forward, just steps to follow. I personally run these every 3 months on my PC, it can't hurt anything.

You should absolutely use a USB drive or something to backup crucial files if you haven't already, as your computer should be considered unstable and potentially able to die at any time forcing a reinstall - this may be unlikely, but better to assume the worst and make sure your files are safe before you continue with troubleshooting and repairs.

...

When Windows is not working correctly, you will want to scan the file system - like verifying the integrity of a Steam game install, but for the entire operating system. It usually takes around 30 minutes to run, or longer depending on the speed of the disk.
"If some Windows functions aren't working or Windows crashes, use the System File Checker to scan Windows and restore your files.
Though the steps below might look complicated at first glance, just follow them in order, step-by-step..."
Microsoft System File Checker:

To verify the safety and security of your Windows installation, use the Microsoft Safety Scanner:
