Hi folks,

if you are interesteded to infantry squad leader gameplay, have a look at my youtube video series called Catmouse and the Peace Force.

Originally an experiment of one or two videos, the project escalated a bit due to me learning a bit about video editing and adjecent topics, and wanting to share a bit about the fun gameplay PR can offer. Sharing video game content can indeed be fun!

While there are still some episodes scheduled on Youtube for release, and perhaps some in the making, I am about to finish the epilogue of the series and preparing to wind down this publication.

Before it vanishes into obscurity - have a look at the grand adventures of the formidable semi random internet special forces squad Peace-Corps Force X:





Act 1: "Beating Hasty Retreats" - the Taliban have irreversibly captured our flag, one full squad is out of position, and we need to make a hasty retreat to reinforce the crumbling defenses at the next flag in the north.

Act 2: "Traumatic Pushes" - the insurgents mortars and long range fire is painfully effective, preventing all cautious approaches against the cache. The precise location of the northern cache is not yet known. The team is spread out assault position ... will a decisive push yield in death or success?

Act 3: "With Heavenly Love" - can heavily artillery break the defensive belt around the spawned cache? Let's try and boom.

Act 4: "Contraceptive Tactics" - the cache location is impossibly difficult to penetrate. Or is it? In the hope for eternal glory, the remaining live members of Peace Force Squad are homing in for the tunnel of love.

Part 1: "Night Riders" - in the darkest hour, the Peace-Corps cache assault team deploys against the last remaining cache.

Part 2: "The Battle of Gas Station" - heck, just watch it already :^)

Special Operation: "Duck Flight" - German Forces are approaching the silo objective from all sides, and the overall situation turns worse by the minute. In this dire moment, the Peace Corps Force Special Operations Detachment Alpha is deployed to save the day. The men are highly trained experts in hand to hand combat, close quarters tactical gun fighting, armchair strategy, clandestine operations, and can even stand their ground against heavy enemy assets. For a limited time, that is ... will it be enough to turn the tide?

"Bitchin' Betty Billwinkle Badge" is - no pun intended - infantry air combat footage from an insertion behind enemy lines. After taking command over "NOOOB Squad", a mix of greenhorn and snaker eater U.S. Marines, and exposing ourselves to the loving front line, I decide to take ze choppa, make a hot insertion deep into the enemy rear territory, and stir things up a bit ... like a pro.

"Raiders of the cache" is a quick documentary of the brave actions of the hard-boiled members of squad #6 during counter insurgency operations - a known cache location is heavily defended, prior assaults with heavy assault failed. What would be the proper way to approach such a dangerous objective?

"What is best in life?"* is the question asked to any mighty warrior of the Peace Corps Force. The precious answers to this question can only be learned in the fire of true combat. Fortunately, digital screen capture software makes these invaluable insights available to a broader audience.

"From Fallujah with Love": During the assault of the southern cache, the Bradley APC of squad #1 was severy damaged. In it's tracked state, it requires quick repairs. Squad #5 is moving out with a logistic truck to provide repairs, and the going to re-group for a re-newed cache assault. Are they going to succeed?

"On the rubber soles of freedom" tells us a story of a brave squad of cornplaster commandos who play the devil's piano to capture and hold objective Charlie near Reichswald. Enemy forces are most likely set up south, east, and north of the objective. Watch some beautiful tactical infantry manouvers, a fully immersive blisterfoot experience.

"Armchair general's dream" is a longer clip about an attempted flanking and enveloping manouver against an entrenched Russian opposing force: Objective North Village is being reinforced by forward operation bases from the northeast and northwests, a continues direct attack does not seem to give satisfactory results. Is it time for a "Sasquatch manouver"?

"Free Fire Zone Ping Pong": After hard work and many a fallen comrade only the last objective lay before us ... however, there was little conceilment to conduct an frontal attack, and to make matters worse, the U.S. Marines force started counter attacking. It was one of those days...

I hate driving vehicles when squad-leading. I drive of cliffs while looking on the map, or drive over mines when being on radio communication with others squads. Or maybe I am just lazy and really enjoy one of the few NCO priviliges of having easy access to chauffeurs and pilots. Sometimes ... however ... sometimes a squad leader has to do what a squad leader has to do ...

"Leave No Blueberry* Behind": In Project Reality, you can always count on your team members to do their very best - we stick together, though thick and thin, heal each other, cower in the dirt, and sometimes pray - and face the dangers of the virtual war world as a team!

"Into The Maelstrom": Sometimes you can control the flow of battle, take your lessons learned and use them to mold the outcome of your engagement. And sometimes you need to let go, step into the chaotic fires of hell and sacrifice to the dog spirits of war.



This is a recording of the battle recorder file showing the charge up the hill to the Radio station objective. As so often with the fog of war, glorious as it seemed at that point of time to take the initiative and cry "hail mary! chaaarge!", a prior collection of enemy intelligence might have prevented unnessary deaths.
