Part III - Gearing Up for Soviet Victory
In our series on the WW2 Eastern Front theatre development for PR:BF2 we also saw in Part I and Part II that the amount of new content in this update will be massive. In this third article, we want to show you some of the new additions the infantry can expect to use on the new battlefields. But before we show off the goodies, we want to reach out to our fantastic community for a bit of assistance. As our development continues, so do the server costs. Your generous donations will help keep our servers running smoothly. So if you can, please donate today. Every bit helps, and we're immensely grateful for your continued support!

Soldiers & Kits

The soviet soldier and kit models were generously given to us by the Battlegroup Frontlines modding team and reworked heavily by our team to have a better variety of equipment, LODs, and textures. The Wehrmacht will also be given some warmer winter clothes for some of the new maps.

Weapons

And of course, we also have some new toys for the infantry when we introduce this new faction to the game. From the rifleman's Mosin-Nagant 91/30 (By Mr.Rifleman) and the sniper's variant with the PU scope, to the SVT-40 semi-automatic rifle and PPD-40 submachine-gun (by AtTheSpeedOf) for the breacher and officers on the team to the PTRS-41 anti-tank rifle (model by PotatoLord) of the rifleman-AT class. And some new grenades to throw around are also introduced. The Pomz AP and RPG-43 AT grenades are originally made by the BKF and Battlegroup Frontlines modding teams respectively. And while these renders below show the excellent modeling and texture work of the artists, we cannot wait until you see the effort that went into their animations, and sounds as well!

By the way, what's the difference between this Mosin-Nagant and the one in ARVN's hands(Or NVA in PR)?

So how about the Bolt-Action AT Rifle?
Hopefully we will be able to add the PTRD-41 when the art team finds time, for the early maps.

That is the m38 (shortened, different bayonet etc) carbine version of the mosin shown here. We hope to eventually replace the current mosin models with new ones.

That explains it, i'm pretty sure that we already have M38 in-game, but turns out, it was just a Mosin M30.

Any chance for M44 or M59 in future for insurgent pickup kits perhaps? :D

People will now feel its more balanced with these weapons. Next WW2 factions should be in order of priority with hopeful windows of completion the Imperial Japanese Army WW2(5-10 years), the United Kingdom WW2(5-20 years), French Resistance(25 years), Italians (30 years)

If we get enough people, we could cut it down to 5-10 years per faction, plus maps, at least 3 maps per faction.

This reminds me more of Call of Duty:Finest Hour from 2004, my first Call of Duty, the first one on console. I must replay that whole game for the 100th time. Its urban fighting plays like PR a bit.

This was my first FPS game. Took forever to beat the first time. My first simulation.

The next year, had I gotten Battlefield 2 for Christmas, that was my first chance to find PR, cause original Battlefield 2 sucked. Once again in 2010 I was looking for a game to play at friends house, I think I found it but never went through with it.

Then in 2015 I needed a free to play simulation, cause its one of the things my spiritual awakening told me to learn. PR just happened to be free, just turned stand alone and ran on my laptop.
