Hey all, This is an idea on what the music for 0.9 is going to sound like. I have many versions written for 0.9, ie. there will be 2-3 main menu themes.
It sounds mighty fine, military ceremonial style, me like.
Looking forward to hearing the rest

I concur, sounds like 0.9 will be a ww2 game.
Nothing wrong with it, its just generic, it sounds like any theme to any ww2 game/movie ever made.

It's too dramatic for this game... Why don't you use some of your old art or some of D|sciples soundtracks? They fit so much better. It's a good piece of music don't get me wrong, but when you finally enter the game it would just feel so stupid. Cheers.

A very good piece of music indeed.
Has a nice feel to it and flows very good too,but as other has stated,i dont think it would fit the game as it is of now.
Maybe it could be used in Fallen Hope 2 or something in that direction as it reminds me of the initial part of "Saving Private Ryan".
But,good music and i hope to hear some more of your work in the future

Instantly remembered me of Medal of Honor.
It does sound epic, but it might be the wrong for PR.

It may be well made but I don't think slow, dramatic music suits PR.
2 questions:
1. How will there be 2-3 different menu themes at once?
2. Is PirateX still composing for PR?

guys guys guys .... the reason it reminds you of ww2 is because PR is a simulation of ww3 and the main menu is kinda your home where you stay with ur family and the music gives you the feeling you would get in reality before you get deployed to where ever your going.

Really nice work Alkali. Very nice indeed.
Some snares might fit in nicely, but you probably know that anyway. Can't go wrong with brass though.
What are you using for your instrumentation? VSL?

What source/s do you have to back up any of that?

Thanks lads, as I said, this is only a demo, the start isnt actually in the main theme, im just showing off what kind of sounds im using The main theme starts at 26 seconds, the real main menu has drums and its more modern, has guitar etc. The main menu music will be about 10 mins, with possible 3 versions of the theme while in the main menu.
Im not sure if Pirate has composed anything, im sure he has, but he is probably busy with maps.
Im using a real orchestra heh, im using Symphobia, Halion and some sample sounds.
