Things start coming together :)
Well, The PR A2 sound dept have started to make some changes. So far we have a nice soundscape coming together. I've started on the weapons and Bruce is working on the environments. Between us, I think we have a nice workflow, something that I hope you'll all get to hear soon.
Currently, we have quite abit working ingame now.
Smallarms for Brit & Taliban units.
Mounted heavy caliber MG's.
AT4/RPG firing sounds, as well as ammo (different sounds for various RPG ammotypes).
Sonic cracks for all PR weapons.
Also I must thank Bruce who's managed to capture some really nice sounds. He sent me a some vehicle sounds the other day and I have to say I was mightly impressed. I really looking forward to getting stuck into the vehicles, especially the air based units
Well, I must go out into this horrid rain, typical huh... has to rain on a bank holiday.

Good to know. The sound in actual PR is one of the best in games ever, now I can't even imagine in PR A2 since this engine is better for modding than the BF2.
[R-DEV]OkitaMakoto:"Cheers, you're the man, Okita"
[R-DEV]Rhino:"I in fact got kicked from a server for tking."
Hitperson:"well done, treasure it forever."
[R-DEV]Adriaan:"Damned classy Roma, if I may say so."
[R-DEV]Chuc:"Pro man, pro." (yes, it was about me)
[R-MOD]BloodBane611:"Romagnolo, you definitely deserve a LOL award for that."

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the comments, glad to see everyones eager to see & hear what we're doing
@Howitzer
More work will first go into making the weapons sound good from the 1st person, then echo/reverb/trailoff will be added at a later date. I can say that we're looking into a new system exclusive to PR A2 regarding overall ambience (combat & natural) but you will have to wait for that I'm affraid
Hehehe you also don't need to worry about annoying volume issues, We're going through and fixing alot of the volume problems as we change the sounds.
Thanks again, as I find time I'll try to post more info.

We have a great bunch of testers so ambient levels will be made to match the distances at which most combat is taken place. However volume over range testing will begin later, for now we need to get the weapon characteristics just right. Volumes has you may know are controlled primarily via the config settings. You do not get different sounds for different distances, so one sound has to to work for all ranges. However, having afew goes myself in the editor I think infantry level combat sounds pretty nice from about 1 mile away.Me want good distant sounds
And a good (Ambient/weapons) sound volume ratio !
"footsteps must not be louder that the M240 firing next to you lol"
