Post by Matrox »

Some skins I've been working on for the past week:

AR10T for the Canadian marksman
Model by Matty, with the base coming from Katarn's C7 series:

AAV7P created by Motherdear. Salmonella worked on the skin but had to resign as he's run out of time :( model is WIP with the windows, but It's almost done so I thought I would post up a view for you guys before it finally gets some nice renders and stuck up in the dev highlights. Motherdear has been working on this mofo for a long long time....

though WIP, they look excellent!
I like the yellowish teint on the C7CT mag, is that supposed to be some sort of desert reflection for it gives that impression.
very sharp texture on the AAV7P, I can't place the arabic on the desert versions' backdoor though

The rifle is actually an AR10T, just a small little mixup :P

Regarding the 'ironsights' variant.. ;)

LAV's.

It's armed with M2 .50 Cal MG and Mk19 launcher, IIRC.

OMG, I loved the AAV7P.

I cant wait to see beach assaults with that thing, for exemple, in Jabal 2.

Or maybe in Fallujah, why not ?

AAV+Fallujah=Gary rendered combat ineffective. I would imaging replacing the LAV on every LAV-25 map cept Jabal? Cause me thinks only the LAV's Bushmaster can take on a BMP-3.

the AAV7 was actually used in Fallujah, so seeing it there would be quite likely (and has been discussed before) apart from that the AAV will mostly be used on carrier maps since the LAV is not meant for open water but only to cross rivers. Apart from that, they will just both be used, as many other factions get 2 APCs as well (mostly one IFV with 20mm-30mm autocanon and a true apc with .50 cal).

On the Models, nice done, love the DMR

Love the scope on that AR10T, thats the one that Z-trooper made?
Also what is with that tracks in AAV pic 1 and 3?
Good Job hoping for quick release, but no rush ;)

Thanks for the work of everyone who's involved in this.

The AAVP will be interesting and will hopefully add a new dynamic to PR's gameplay.

1. Nope, that is not the scope I made.

The tracks are feck'd because Matrox forgot to flick off one setting before hitting the render button... "pre-multiply alpha" in his diffuse texture ;)
