The PR atmosphere
Hi community.
Its time for me to reveal the work I've been doing since I become part of the team.
I have my own sound team containing myself and its both good and bad. Bad because I have to do all new things myself and good because I have control over every sound aspect of 1.0 and the guys in the team trust me and have faith of what I do. Its a pleasure working with BF2:PR. The team has given me all the support they can to improve the progress I'm making.
I've been working with alot of details concerning both sounds and visual effects.
Not only have PR got a facelift from sounds but also from all new visual effects wich you haven't seen much of.
This is where [R-CON]Brunitogg comes in. He has been working with me with alot of cool visual stuff. He's real talented and very convinced that we're gonna achieve as much as we can out of the BF2 engine.
Were trying to aim as much as possible to make you think that PR feels real when you're playing it.
Therefore I'm not gonna talk too much but show you how PR 1.0 could sound and look like.
This is a short clip from Karbala in 1.0 just showing some WIP material.
Hope you like.
Enjoy!

Not quite, most explosions you barely see a flash and everything else is sand and dust kicked up. However a vehicle exploding such as an APC or tank creates a beautiful fireworks display because of all the ammunition and gasoline going off inside of it.

I really like the explosions. Come on guys, it's entertainment.
Obviously I'm not a dev but I'd go out on a limb and say that the game won't require any more computer power than before (precluding the possibility of an increase in view distance).
Looks (and sounds) great Anders. Thank you for your work. The new assets look swank, too

But AFAIK it's not always explode. Ammunition and gasoline are usually well protected, no?DigitalRicky;bt8718 wrote:However a vehicle exploding such as an APC or tank creates a beautiful fireworks display because of all the ammunition and gasoline going off inside of it.
But yeah, adding more dust and smoke probably is the best solution.

Depends, but if the vehicle is burning, I'd imagine things get a little hot, especially if the vehicle has been hit, then the ***** starts to explode, or burn.Unhealed;bt8722 wrote:But AFAIK it's not always explode. Ammunition and gasoline are usually well protected, no?
