After a little absence i just played PR again for the first time again and i found out the actual use for spec ops, the slams are great against comander assets. I spent a round circling my objective hunting comander assets and the like. i dont know how much points you get for it, but its very satisfing. At the end of the round over half of my score was made from team work points. IMO thats quite good for spec ops looks like it has a purpose after all.

Actually, him taking out hostile commander assets was a big help to his team.
He also mentioned that he got his satisfaction from the actual deed itself, not from the points.

Its not that, what annoyed me was the fact that it seemed like he was justifying his lonewolfing (which im assuming he was doing) by mentioning the amount of teamwork points he had.

You don't need more than 1 or 2 people hunting CO assets but someone does need to do it because the round is ultimately decided by points and if I have 3 operating bunkers all game and you are busy repairing and rebuilding then my team can lose more points taking an objective than you do defending it and still win.
i don't know how much points you get for it, but its very satisfying
I use the engineer because I don't care for the spec ops kit but I did not know that a single SLAM would take out a bunker or UAV trailer so I might reevaluate that kit choice.

Uh, yeah, seems a bit too easy to take out a bunker with one Slam...
When I took out a Firebase, I needed one C4...

the slams are very effective to destroy assets, with 15secs delay and the fact i dont have to use
a remote trigger its a place and forget weapon. my selection of choice when i want to get an enemy bunker.just miss a deactivation device, often blue teammates dont see this things on bunkers/trucks/stuff then i tkill the next specop/engineer.

The red skull should be replaced with a big sign saying "GO AWAY; EXPLOSIVES, BIG BOOM, CAUTION, DANGER, DETONATION, DEATH, RETURN, GO BACK, NO, IT IS MUY IMPORTANTE FOR YOU TO GET THE FUNK OUT OF HERE etc.

yea i do spec ops on basrah alot , or "lone wolfing" as some ppl call it . just go around and blow up there assets , one game i got like (before .6 and insurgency) 12 spawn cars , a load of cahces , AAA , 10 odd cars, just got loads, and my team kicked *** , yes i was alone but i was (arguable) doing the most important job on the team.

i think its pretty awsome sometimes to go in a spec ops team, 2 or 3 of ya behind the front line blowing stuff up and hiding, letting the team know tanks are coming down certain road, choppers are taking off etc... proper SAS andy McNab stylee.
Thats what the spec ops units are best suited for.

Andy Mcnab style? I thought he was blowing stuff up, not fabricating a story.

i've read some of andy mc-nabs books! they are really really interesting, i think he was a SAS commando...i think he served in the first gulf war anyways!.
anyway, i usually use the spec ops kit for ambushes or sneaking up on un-expected tank crews etc..and just placing a slam and then running to find cover or getting one of my squaddies to keep the enemy occupied while i planted the c4 >
hehe
i remember attacking one flag on a map that we needed and nobody was even there
and our team ended up winning the round too...

Andy McNab was with Bravo-Two-Zero in the First Gulf war. He was with the SAS and supposed to blow wome big missile thingies up. But his squad made the mistake of camping next to an enemy base. So 3 of his pals died, McNab and 3 more got POW and Chris Ryan was the one who got out. McNab got released later ofc.
Nice hearing you worked that way! As others say it's always nice having a SpecOps doing that, preferably as a Sl so he can keep in touch with the commander and thus get the info out to the others.

On Gulf of Oman WAC, the USMC air cover is week if those assets are not destroyed before hand. Sending a boat up river or a BH around the side of the map with Officer, medic and SFs to take out the vast amounts of AAA around the map is very much advised.

SFs do play a role in a team game, not just a lone wolf kit
there spec ops weapon (M4 QBZ-95 Carbine HK53 etc) is quite decent aswell
