[List] Longest shot you've made with a sniper rifle

Post by <<SpanishSurfer>> »

Last night I camped myself on some mountains with the sniper rifle looking towards the bunkers. Well, I was lucky enough to have an enemy that was knowledgeable enough build commander assets around the bunkers, giving me plenty of targets. It took me a minute to figure out how high I had to raise my sights and far ahead of targets I had to shoot if moving but once I found it I started dropping people like crazy. People running in full speed, strafing side to side, and jumping. The craziest part was how far forward ahead of targets I had to shoot just to hit them when they would run. I had one particular minute that was pretty awesome, I wish I would have recorded it. I took a shot at a squad of three guys that got out of the tank to repair it. One guys head, then another, and another, all in less then 2 seconds. I stopped shooting and had time to watch all three of my shots hit their marks and drop all three of them.

I had a Humvee parked 100 meters (103 yards) away so I never ran out of ammo. Sat in this spot for about an hour and a half and never had a single round come close. They tried random bombings with aircraft, building AAA and shooting at mountains, and searching for me with their armor. The thing was they were looking too close, the whole time I was 786 meters (859 yards) away from them.

Hm, my longest shot wasn't that far away I think, but I did manage to take out somewhere near Refinery from a bit south of the western Oil thingy, on Kufrah Oilfields. The game gave me more than 100 points for the kill, so I guess that it was pretty far.

Well it was just about 12:30 on Friday the 22nd and after a long night and morning waiting on the grassy hill I finally had him in my sights ...
And as the windshield melts
My tears evaporate
Leaving only charcoal to defend.
Finally I understand the feelings of the few.

Sniper rifle? Not sure, I don´t get to use that kit much. But I was laughing my head off when I took out a pixel sized marksman (heard the M14) on a hill way out in front of me with a mounted RPK-74.

It was on a map that hasn't been released yet with basically no fog so it was kind of cheating. I call BS on the 950m shot though because of view distance restrictions.

Well, I know that at 786meters I could have backed up more and still could have seen targets. So hearing someone take 900+ meter shots doesn't surprise me.

If you mess around with maps and take out the fog in your own offline version, you can shoot pretty far :) to make a kill.

Levelling half a city block to get a kill does not count I am afraid.

man last week i made the longest shot ever with the M82 on kashan desert. ok, we had all the flags and were attacking the MEC main and i was on the hills directly to the east of their airstrip. k there was a guy standing behind one of these walls with razer wires on top of it so i should have taken him out with one shot and it should have been a head shot. and i did it. hopefully i can find the round in the battlerecorder and send you some screen shots.
