OGT: PLA Special Ops

As I realize the push between the front is going back and forth tonight on DVB I decided to run off with a 3 man jeep not really thinking I would accomplish much.

The intent originally was to see if there were any cmd assets lying around the british main - though quickly I changed pace once the chopper had spawned.

Chilling in the back of the chopper until some goon runs up, gets in without a pilot kit and then randomly starts firing in the opposite direction for no reason >.>

Well I promptly set my slams, and run east - after the explosion I count one corpse and rearm my slams and head north to the map border.

Drinking my soda and eating my taco bell burrito I sit and lurk prone facing the helipad from the north waiting...

I think and plan out a second attack.
30 second warmup time... check for troops... and make sure no vehicles are moving out...

The chopper starts up, I check the base and find no one... still counting up to about 10, at 15 I see the last troops running into the helo, at 20 I run full force set the slams..

The chopper gains about 10 feet in the air and explodes, I run once again 3 grids east to another squads rally and rearm my slams..

The CATA team begins whining about baserape, and a DVB clan member tells them "We don't like it, but it is a tactic"

So now rearmed they begin to argue about baseraping in general, and one of my team members starts mocking DVB and saying wheres the bunnyhopping... he gets kicked 5 minutes later after walls of text..

I position back in the north lurking, waiting, footsteps come near and one man fails to notice me, turns around and heads off east into the jungle..

Now they try to bait me, people without the pilot kit jump in the chopper and sit in it for a few seconds "faking" starting up - though I clearly notice the blades sitting still 8)

Then the chopper starts up again - I count down to 20 and begin to run, and set the slams on the back left wheel hub of the chopper and run once again to the other friendly squads rally.

I fail to realize the timer of the game is ticking down and there are few minutes left in the game - and decide to "let the next one go" not to blow my cover...

As I'm approaching from the east I realize I want to kill the chopper but the troops in the side WILL see me if I try and run and set explosives, so I dive prone back into the bushes and slide my way back into my hiding spot..

Then the pilot crashes into a tree

The game comes down to 50 seconds, I set slams too late and the round ends without an explosion...

FIN!

A tale of how cool the PLA special ops kit is on OGT.
I start my next round in operation pheonix and go 27-2 thanks to an awesome TWVOIP squad :D

Once I on OGT, my team was having a hard time, North bridge was capable, but no on was there due to many troops spawning somewhere to the east.
The Hippo was flying around the map with a guy trowing c4 out the back, with little effect. when the hippo landed south of a fire-base, I decide to hop in and hitch a ride to the tunnel, The hippo returns to large circles around the map, despite my pleas to go over the river so I can bail. Eventully the hippos path briefly passes the river, so i decide tit my best chance to survive, I bail and aim for the middle, I suffer little damage, but as I swim to shore, I spot movement and a hostile troop on the embankment. I am sure he must have saw me skydive. I swim for my life. After a tense 30 seconds, surprisingly not dead, I rush up the hill and to face my nonexistent foe...a pleasant surprise.
I run past the train tracks to a tall hill north of the tunnel, I was expecting a RP, but as I scan the outlying terrain, I spot a real RP on another hilltop.

I run at first, then as I near the top I proceed cautiously, trying to resist the temptation of rushing in with knife drawn and exposed until I am right on top of it. I destroy the RP, and another placed on the other side of the hill and spot a 5-ton truck parked at the base of the hill on the tracks. Alas, I have no C4, and I don't trust grenades to take out a co truck, so I crawl under the truck un-spotted.
I hear the familiar sound of the truck starting and a man getting out. I can only see his feet near the drivers door, I wait for him to leave and it turns out he has a SUSAT. I let him throw himself against my comrades. Next person spawns, hops out and starts running, I see he has a Shottie, so I shoot him. Before I am able to retive his kit an another Brit spawns and hops out, I proceed to shoot him in the knees. I sprint for the engineers kit, place the c4 on the truck then run to my rife before I blow up the C4, the Truck and a Brit.

I love OGT moments, the map is just great for sneaking around :D

^^ agreed. I've had some great times behind the line on this map.

I go engineer... i remember one time as Brits.. had a K/D of 18-1 and i dont think i fired my shotgun once.. all kills were mines, c4 and knife.. great fun for a change of pace..being sneaky.

Mao Valley was like the ultimate map for sneakiness. Hide in that long grass with knife, no-one ever saw you coming...

I just love the atmosphere of OGT,it's great when your lying in the grass with enemies all around you.

And sneaking around of course ;)

I did an epic round on OGT setting up booby traps along the road for the brits.

After about 7 kills one of them drove into the tunnel in his APC and got out, looking for mines so I jumped out and shot him point blank with my shotgun.
Needless to say he killed me instantly. Lame.

Yeah I miss Mao valley a lot, but it was .5 so it was grenadier spam hell from flags!

It was the shit ;) but it was kind of small even by old PR standards!

I bet you anything jedi, someone has a "map strategy" for OGT involving mining the tunnel up, honestly after all the times I got raped there I drive through the forest past the tunnel entrance.... thats where the PLA should have a HAT person to eliminate targets imo..

hehe, ye, ive done this on OGT too before, its what we want to see is sabotage of assets at main base aint quite base raping ;)

Is there a lot of difference between shooting an enemy in the face when he spawns on his, not to be captured base, or putting C4 or slam on his vehicle and then kill him?

Well, if you shoot them, they'll come after you, but if you blow them up, they won't know what the heck just happened. Beside the part, where they just blew up.

So wich of the two do you consider to be close to base rape? (BTW i'm pretty shure what they're thinking what happened.)

Shooting people at their main flag, when it's not captureable, is spawn rape.
Blowing them up, as they prepare to leave the base is a mix of both base and spawn rape.

destroying important assets is a key thing teams need to do to win battles ;)

I can see that, but it's still frowned upon by manny. There is a difference between winning the battle and having a good game. It's just poor sportmanship when you go about public servers blowing up tanks planes and choppers in mainbases, it may be different in clanmatches. They can organise a defence around bases maybe.
It has been argued many times that irl such important things wouldn't be left undefended and going commando in military bases would leed to bad things irl. I think it is good courtesy to allow your opponenet and your teammates a good game and a fighting chance. You can always ask for a supplycrate and HAT, so you can blow them to pieces 100 metres outside their base.

Well, you can go complain to Rhino, since GB base is a farm and last I checked, farms aren't built with defenses in mind :p

Maybe some razor around the helipad spot and the general area?

Well what did they think..

I think they will think that there was a ultrasonic cookie what tried to get in but that there was no space so they got blown.

That's what I think they'll think than.

Or they think that there was just putted C4 / slam on them and they even didn't noticed..

But I think they'll think the first thing I thought they would think.

I think.

(Ik denk dat jij er helemaal naast zit en en dat ze meer in de regio van godverdomme moet zitten te denken.)

Btw i know for shure Rhino got warned for doing such things on TB server a few days back.

(Ik denk dat jij er best dicht in de buurt kan zitten van wat zei dachten wat jij denkt dat ze dachten)

Maybe they were all british and just were thinking;

Oh nose, We crashed becasue of some kind of a explosion, didn't we?

But I still think the Ultrasonic cookie is the most realistic way of thinking what they thought.

I still think.
