I would strongly recommend trying to make them look as much like this as possible:

yeah FSW does have nice effects, but those are US army soldiers and BF2 has marines.

It's pretty good, but not the level of detail I think they're looking for. I'd suggest something like that, but like the other player render, more polygons, etc.

Operating in the Middle East, the soldiers would be issued with U.S. Tri-Colored BDUs. Not the ones shown in FSW.

They are 3-color desert BDUs. It's just that they're not very well done in FSW.

They're just too white and have far too many badly drawn creases in the pants and shirt.

But it doesn't really matter. FSW is not an FPS, so detail isn't as important as the actual gameplay.

(I put this one here just in case the "But the Marines are in the Department of the Navy" comment that always seems to surface.

I'm not trying to start "flame war" just a little inter-service dig

Sorry..back to the topic. Those images look cartoonish. I would like to see the new desert digital pattern of the USMC.

Rangers? Green Berets? Those would be cool parts for the US team.

I know that i divert a bit from the subject...but since FSW was touched...have the following observations..and i would appreciate ur input...

I really like FSW because it's a different concept...and can be quite educational for people that didn't have military training and squads that want to use tactics...

I would like to see that concept of moving and giving orders in a fps game...

However the thing that strikes me...is that u have a team of 4 guys..and sometimes they shooting in guys behind cover 50-80 meters away..and having difficulties to hit him...also..while one team provides cover..the other advances to better position...now then I have never seen that in any FPS game...and i was wondering...is it because the guns are too accurate in the most fps games...or is it mainly because players have no fear because of the respawn? Or maybe is it because there is no fear/phsycology modeled in the game..for example when ur under fire..u dont stick ur head above cover..bring ur sights up..and shoot...u wait until reloading or whatever....just thinking... :) I would be very interested to see how close combat-ftf would implement the phsycological model in the multiplayer game...

BF2 may have Marines, but if I'm correct this is a mod they're making, not a map pack.

No, Tomcat, it's just that Pandemic Studios made the weapons (and I have no idea why) incredibly inaccurate. Even at ranges of 7-10 meters.

Maybe if I send a few emails to them, adressing the problem, they may release a patch -- for the PC version -- which would make the weapons a hell of a lot more accurate.

maybe they have done that...in order to emphasise the tactical moves within the gameplay..i.e. flanking etc...
