Ok men, let me set this one up for ya
We were finishing up a 24 hour mission, most of us had been awake 40+ hours, dead tired.
About this stretch of our exfil, that song from Pauly Shores "In The Army Now" started playing in my head over and over, you know the one, when they are staggering through the desert with no water and lost. "The Dam At Otter Creek" by Live, yeah that one.
Anyways, no kidding in 15 minutes, we had a flat tire from a A CO truck, my team leaders truck started over heating, and we had a Combat Camera dude become a Heat Casualty(hehe go figure)We were out of water, all trucks were half a tank of fuel or less, it was 120+ mid-day heat, and around 45miles back to the FOB. Oh yeah, we all stunk like freshly squeezed ***.(sry admins, that last one had to said like that for full effect!)

I have seen the desert...


It is big...


It's is hot...


It is dangerous...


The Boss...


Poor LT...

Nice view there, so many things to see, sand, sand and more sand....kidding.

You got a really tough time there 120 and no water, thats kind of hard.

Wasn't too bad, spent around five hours out in that area the night before in a navigational nightmare (wrong overlays were sent to our on board computers) about five km off I'd say, and it was about another two and a half hours coming back across. And the Blog thing...this is about as close as I'm gonna get to that, figured you guys would appreciate it more than, i don't know, whoever. Blogging is a dirty word in the Army anyways, I'm sure I'm pushing the limit on that right now.

Naw, it only has it's moments of misery, where we are at isn't very violent at all, at the moment, thats probably why I can post as much as I am. The Lt, well he's basically a high paid PVT, so when your Boss, the LTC, is right there...you tend to get yelled at alot. I know he was not wanting all this at that point and time. But, it's all pretty amusing either way.
