Failed

Post by davetboy_19 »

Some rounds are made of Pure Gold and Win, Others are applicants for 'Face Palm of the year'.

This is my story of Fail, Let the world of PR know yours.

I played a round today on The Battle Arena server and I can assure you that it will make it to the finals of Face Palm of the year. Most (70%) of the British were busy looking at the ground in Main Base, and once they got bored with that its was a case of *knife* 'sorry' *revive* and then repeat.

I managed to get a Gunner for the APC I had saved from being blown to hell with a friendly C4, only to have one of the worst gunners I have ever had the dis-pleasure of driving for. After spotting a Insurgent with a not so APC friendly RPG I informed my gunner of his location...only to have the gunner look the wrong way *Bang* we took a hit. Again I told the gunner the Insurgents position, then to my disbelief my gunner bailed out of the APC while telling me to run because of a RPG *Face Palm*.

I will not post the name of the Gunner, because *points* you know who you are...FAILED.

Can't fix it but we can sure as hell post about the idiots, maybe showing then just how stupid they are. This may possibly cause then to either behave of shame them to death.

And if it doesn't do either, its always a good laugh to read about the fails.

Not too sure about 'pwning' since brits almost never win unless 80% of the people playing are trying to win and playing as a team.

Yeah, finding a good gunner at TBA can be a masterpiece.
Usually I open up a "APC VOIP" squad. After a few seconds a whole bunch of people join the squad without having any microphone or not responding at all. Only massive squad kicks help to let some other players join the squad.
If you've finally found an english speaking and thinking creature, there are still tons of people joining the squad, preferably either a 7 year old or a helium addict or both saying something like "Oh cool, i've got teh sniper!" (to be honest, I've never seen a british sniper living longer than 5mins at Basrah and usually one or even both rifles are in insurgent's hands). After inquiring the sense in rather having a sniper than an engineer in an APC squad and only getting answers like "But I can kill soooo many with it!" more kicks are to follow.

Unless you are doing a mechanical infantry squad, an apc squad works best with only 2 or 3 guys in it. Problem is, that admins on TBA arent really for locking a squad to help keeping it organized. So most of the time you end up having trouble giving the enemies positions to your gunner because a high-pitched voice - which would make the Bee Gees sound like Barry White - keeps asking you where the enemies are at and where he'd be going with his snip3hr.

Okay, there are some under-age players you can really have a good round with, but those are rare.
Also I do not kick everyone for not having a microphone while doing infantry - but in a tank/apc a microphone is essential to survive.
Whenever one of you guys join my apc squad dont think bad of me when I kick you. It is nothing offensive, its only I have to keep up radio dicipline while tanking and this is easier with only 2-3 squadmembers.
This reminds me of the communication you've got in your squad while being the leader: Where'r you goin'?

Even though having the same language is a good thing, I have personally had a near perfect round in an APC as the gunner while non English speaking German driver got me around the place.

There where only a few words that both of us understood...mostly swearing. But the key things were the enemy bearing (he did a great job) and RPG! followed by something in German that didn't sound to nice.

Today on Bi Ming, me and a few squads just finished making a firebase near the Bi Ming outpost, a Chinese soldier came up to all of us carrying an ammo bag. He failed.

My Fail was witnessed by 3 other team mates, when I attempted to throw a grenade out of a window in the West Tower on Mestia, I missed and was like:

None of us made it down the ladder in time.

Well if I can I prefer getting a german gunner/driver. Not only because they are so damn good at tanking but also because I'm german myself.
But you're right about the lanugage. As long as your mate is a clever guy he can even talk Suaheli and you might still have a good round.

WeeGeez, I probably would have laughed my a** off instead of trying to escape.

One of my first times playing I stumbled across a enemy Sniper. He didn't notice me, but the excitement of finding him and worried about him turning around, In my dark room I quickly tried to press the number for a knife. Instead I got a shovel and clicked, didn't realize it was a shovel until *shovel makes digging noise, sniper turns around and BOOM!* I failed.

I was at Basrah a few minutes ago, as the British, and half the entire team was out at village desperately searching for caches while insurgents racked up kills on them like idiots. And the other half (save for two squads) was in the middle of the desert doing squat. And then there's my squad.

We were searching in the city for caches (or at least I think that's what we were doing) when we came under fire from a bunch of guys, many of whom had RPGs. So me and the medic went into a building to fire at them. Was working well at first, we took several RPG hits and he revived me. But when they went into the open, I immediately starting picking them off with my marksman kit. But the medic kept taking potshots at random people in front of me using a bloody ironsight rifle. And RPG on the roof was taking aim at us so I was about to headshot him when the medic ran right in front of me even after I was firing several rounds. He died instantly and I took an RPG to the face.

That wasn't all, on the way back, the squad leader stopped doing anything and our truck driver stopped driving every time we were being shot at. We all died from RPG shortly thereafter.
