RESOLVED - AAS Supported maps?

Guys I am hosting the first (and so far ONLY) European PRMM server.
But I ran into an issue with flags that could not be taken and the AAS Text not being dispayed

Could someone tell me which maps are AAS compatible?

So far the people joining are very helpfull and don't mind voting for a different map, but it's up to me to solve this issue.

Thanks in advance
Flits.

If you open the gpm_cq.py (or might be gpm_aas.py if you have an older server distro) you will see a list of supported maps at the top of the file.

Note that some of the map files have not been released with the require AAS mods, the "Map Pack 1" is slightly delayed as a couple of mappers are putting some revsions into their maps.

Thanks for the quick reply ;)
Here's a copy paste from that file:

# Custom Map Support Added for:
# Strike at Karkand 2: 16, 32, 64
# Wake Island 2007: 64 (only applicable mode for this map)
# The Oasis: 16, 32, 64
# El Alamein XXL: 16, 32, 64
# CP Abadan: 16, 32, 64
# HeliWar: 16, 32, 64
# Steel Thunder: 16, 32, 64
# Jungle Fever: 16, 32, 64
# Hereford Training: 16, 32, 64
# Road to Kyongan Ni: 16, 32, 64
# Insurgency On Alcatraz Island: 16, 32, 64

The majority of these maps aren't even running on this server :-?
Which of the BF2 released maps are compatible with the latest 0.25 release of PRMM?

And by that eggman means the original BF2 1.0 maps such as Dragon Valley, etc. BF2:SF and booster pack maps are not supported.

So you guys mean that these maps are 100% supported:

mapList.append the_oasis gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Wake_Island_2007 gpm_cq 32
mapList.append strike_at_karkand gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Dalian_plant gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Daqing_oilfields gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Dragon_Valley gpm_cq 32
mapList.append FuShe_Pass gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Gulf_of_Oman gpm_cq 32
mapList.append kubra_dam gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Mashtuur_City gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Operation_Clean_Sweep gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Sharqi_Peninsula gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Songhua_Stalemate gpm_cq 32
mapList.append steel_thunder gpm_cq 32
mapList.append strike_at_karkand gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Strike_at_Karkand_2 gpm_cq 32
mapList.append Zatar_Wetlands gpm_cq 32

This was the maprotation on the server but by now the RED colored once are removed due to the AAS issue.
Did I do something wrong here?

Wake Island might have an issue, but all the others *should* work??

What's the nature of the issue?

confused!

Well, directly after the map has loaded and the game starts people noticed they are not told which flags to take. The AAS text is not displayed. Walking of to flags is of no use since none of the flags can ben captured although players are in range of the flags.

I know for a fact GH had this issue on Wake.... I havn't seen it in a while so it may be out of rotation now.

Now switching from one map to another Gulf of Oman is having this issue also?!

What could this be?

Last request!

mapList.append strike_at_karkand_2 gpm_cq 32
mapList.append the_oasis gpm_cq 32
mapList.append strike_at_karkand gpm_cq 32
mapList.append kubra_dam gpm_cq 32
mapList.append steel_thunder gpm_cq 32
mapList.append strike_at_karkand gpm_cq 32

This is currently the maplist that seems to work.

Could someone tell me what I need to reinstall to fix this issue?!
Is it just PRMM or do I need to download an AAS mod?

"First" is a big word... You definitely were not the first to host a European PRMM server :)

Also, "only" is far from reality:
http://game-monitor.com/search.php?rule ... ruleval=pr

You'll see quite a few European servers.

Well due to the high pings for european players on the US located Gloryhound server people where complaining because there was no European alternative.
That's why I thought this one the first and please note that the rest of the European server are NOT ABR ranked.

But these comments aren't really helpfull with the issue I had ;)
Yes it's I had because the max players we had was 15 and now it's empty again due to this AAS issue. Seems there's no need for a 100Mbit European ABR PRMM server.

If you guys come up with a more structural reply I am happy to read the content!

Kind regards
Flits

First, how did you install the server with PRMM? I guess it's a windows server, so did you use the PRMM installer? Or did you use the server download?

As far as requiring a seperate download for AAS, no that's not required.

The only map (not counting BF2SF + Booster pack) I've had problems with in the past with AAS was Wake Island.

If you used the PRMM installer, did you rename gpm_aas.py to gpm_cq.py?

Fritz, i dont wanna be rude but : since release #1 DFF hosted PRMM.
Not continuesly no, but they were there a loooong time.
And since people complain about LAG on Gloryhoundz, Flits decided to put up the server again, and rank it.

in his post he is referring to that, and thats why he posted about 'first' EU server. Mind that not all PRMM servers on that list are ranked.....
and at least he's the only in NL :P

beside all that blablah... the real question
AAS problems.

can you solve it by "mapList.append the_oasis gpm_aas 32" ???
This way the map knows what to do right?

Also, a preferred Maplist and specific Serversettings/tweaks would be nice to have around. - any pointers for a global config?

just my 2 cts

What I was primarily objecting to was the notion that there were no European servers and that now that he had set one up there finally was one ;) So anyway, on to troubleshooting:

Well, please provide some more detail so that I can try to help. Using gpm_aas is not the best solution at this point. Renaming the game modes and using gpm_cq is the preferred method for the moment.

And please provide answers to my previous post, as well.

No I didn't can't remember I read that anywhere
What I now did was renaming the gpm_cq.py to gpm_cq.py.org (original ;) )
And renamed the gpm_aas.py to gpm_cq.py

Could that have been the problem?

Yep, if you hadn't done that before, that would have been the problem.

Depending on how you installed PRMM anyway.. If you used the server distribution, that's already done for you. What source did you install from?
