On the border of Kashan, a Divisional Ammunition Compound, lightly protected by a small MEC Unit, now stands in the Way of the famous Desert Rats. To push deeper into Kashan, the Desert Rats must take and destroy this large Ammo Compound. The Brigade Recce Force have been sent forward to ensure the road is clear for a full Brigade attack. With full air assets available to both sides, this will be a tough Desert Battle, and one which is bound to go in the History
Books. Combined forces is the key, and it will only be the tactically minded who can hold their ground. Can the MEC get Reinforcements up in time, can the Desert Rats strike early and cease the advantage. The time is near, in the next of the Community Matches. H Hour is confirmed on the 13th Dec. The Famous Desert Rats have entered Kashan




Today we have a small update, but one which I believe shows the commitment of the [R-COM]'s, and the support we have for our Community here at Project Reality. The first Official Public Release of the 7 Armd Bde Desert Rats Map, a conversion of Kashan carried out by [R-COM]Richy. Two matches have already been ran on this map, with different outcomes .... now its the Public's turn.

A chance to have some fun, with large numbers of combined assets to choose from, for example:

British Kit

CR2 X 9
Scimitar X 8
Warrior X 8
WIMIK x 6
Quad Bike x 6
Supply Truck X 2
HVM (AA) X 3
Apache X 2
Merlin X 2
Typhoon X 2
Tornado X 2

With the MEC Numbers to Match too - all of which on shorter than normal Spawns !!

Further to that you get the Chance to play around with the new UN Kit.....



So if you want some pure fun this weekend, and the chance to have some major Tank Battles, simply download the Map and Join our server anytime this weekend ..... Just remember its one weekend only

Wait, do I need to re-download due to new UN kits?

Will there be any chance in the future to allow other servers to run CM match maps?

Looks like it will be entertaining, to say the least. Don't want to have to wait. DO WANT DO WANT!

The map is absolutely amazing, not the assets and spawn times but the actual terrain and atmosphere,just awesome. This should be used for a new Kashan so it won't look like landing on Venus.

No its the same map we used for the Matches

What is the ping kick for us internationals?

Is this exactly the same as the one used in the first match, no differences?

1 question, why isn't it fully public?
I mean it should be allowed to be played on any server IMO.


Also if this map isn't tweaked at some points it will still fail for us chopper whores.

Its not available to ALL servers to run, as it is not a core map, and we don't want the core game diluted with these maps !!

The map has not been tweaked for this no, however dependent on its popularity, we will be looking at map packs in the future with a few servers running the maps in rotation (once we get 6 or so maps done), then it would be tweaked.

The map needs to be edited before it is released to the public, there were large amounts of graphical errors, and the bases were pleh...

When i try to download this, it says it is a compressed zip folder. After it downloads, i can't install it. Somebody please get back to me!

rightclick, save - unpack with winzip/winrar/7zip and copy desert rats folder to pr levels folder (keep attention that there is no desert_rats folder inside desert_rats folder)
