Whole squad enters the building, Jiggy watches patiently
'Nade Out
Boom
Cleaning out the last of them
Whole squad down
Work done, Jiggy exfiltrates

How did you get everyone's name to pop up? Isn't this a hack?

Battle recorder, you download the whole game and you can play it back. which is how he got different angles.

Get Fraps or record through Xfire, and record the bits you want, then when you finished, slap some cheesy music on, and voila, a vid

And that, boys and girls, is why you need security.

to be honest, if all the people are in one building, squads often forget to have someone guard the entrance, and if some one is guarding it, and something exciting happens, he will turn away.
i remember on fallujah (twas 10th community server i think), there was an entire squad on one of the towers of that little arch thing. I started climbing up thinking there is no way im even gonna get one. But when i got up, all six of them were looking the other way and i managed to stab 5 of em before the squad leader managed to turn around and start firing at me with his handgun. Luckily i was close enough and managed to kill him before he managed to hit me more than once.

This is the greatest weakness to the 'rolling mob' style of squad leading that is most prevalent in public servers. If the entire squad is basically following the SL on an invisible string then really its like pointing a really fluid shotgun at a target. All those barrels doing one thing.
SLs need to have an awareness of the tactical necessities of the situation. There are specific threats and specific objective, but there are always some essential principles of doctrine that need to be respected. Security, 360 degrees of coverage, squad spacing, etc...
Basically, you need to micromanage individuals more than most people care to. I remember defending Hilltop of Fool's back in .75 and we held the single mansion for 20 minutes at least from constant attack but ONLY because I had assigned specific tasks to each member. You cover this angle on the stairwell, you cover the other one, you cover that room that has the ladder to the roof. It worked against at least 2 squads cause we had it covered. Had it been a free for all 'do what you feel' no doubt at some point a gap would have been left and we'd have failed much sooner.
Lesson: your squad is a fine tool, not a careless bludgeon. Wield it with as much care.

Or really, they need to micromanage themselves. If I'm in a squad, I will generally assume that if I'm not the squad leader, I'll be in charge of the second fireteam. This is key--it's silly to have six people doing the same thing (as you said PFunk).

Yes very true. My best experiences, including that example on Fool's, was an occasion where I had a natural 2nd, a Bravo Fire team leader. He made it easy cause I'd send Bravo off somewhere and he'd tell them what to do without me needing to even tell him thats his job. It was grand.
Micromanage but also delegate. So much goes into it. It all comes down to your ever refining instinct.
