Last night, had a great round of Ejod desert. We were MEC and got pretty pwned.

I kept an APC alive for approx 15mins and got 3rd highest score as the driver. We only killed like....7 people so our score actually came from transporting. Yes ladies and gents, an APC was used to pick up people from location A and move them to location B via locations sneaky 1 and sneaky 3, but definately not sneaky 2.

anyway. We didnt have any transport requests after a while, so we went hull down at various locations to hunt strykers and the like.

I look at the map (sorry no screenshot) and see that two squads have walked from MAIN to the east side of the city to attack from the SOUTH.

must have taken them 20mins. I've been writing in chat every few mins "APC ready to give transport" with a couple of takers, usually peeps who just joined the server and need a ride to their squads. But these people decided a 20minute romp through the desert was preferable to riding in my APC. I was kinda insulted

but I think the sad truth really was that their SL couldn't just press T and say 'requesting APC transport' it would have made his life so much simpler and given my life more meaning.

Eventually my APC got bored so we joined iGi Stoffen's APC on north desert to guard the flanks and provide fire. TOW hummer arrived on the east hills.

We got pwned.

well, 2 of those APCs and those 2 tanks had the same crews, not my guys though.

I agree, way too many SLs don't use the "I need APC transport at this location" command. I try and do it whenever I'm SL, (though the last time I didn't have a good APC squad on the team, so they wouldn't answer requests ).

These generally fall under the clueless idiot type personality floating around in PR servers lately. They do just about everything else wrong too.

I've used the Need APC function to great effect on Fallujah a couple of times. Then there was that time we used it and both the apcs who came to pick us up died...was probably a sign as it turned out (after 10 minutes of withdrawing under fire) that we evaced away from a newly spotted cache.

Well most people are still thinking that APC are only good for killing inf. But they can get you to one loaction to another really really really fast. For instance, I had one game where I was playing West Falluja and we where not able to get across the main road to go east and take the cache. Snipers and heavy guns got the street covered. APC comes rolling along and offers us a ride, we got to the other side, setup a rally point and countinued east while clearing them pesky snipers, mgers and rpgers. The armor is though to take small arms fire and protects the inf and gives fast movement from one local to another. I dont see a lot of people doing mix Mechanized Infantry. I have done a few and you will be amazed at how fast the game goes. Untill your APC gets blown up lol. Then the fun stops. welp thats my 2 cents

Mechanised infantry works best with mumble and good infantry and APC crew

Was definitely the Mumble Human Blob Formation, minus the Mumble part. Hate when you are rolling right beside them and keep saying 'Get In' but they just stare at you through your tiny windscreen visor whacking flies from their face or doing double takes at the strange bush behind them, and tossing knives in the air...Do I watch other people too much?

I don't like being transported in an APC because it seems like every time I get in one the driver drops us off in a horrible location and we get wiped or we get blown up while in transport. I'd rather spend ten minutes walking.

^ hence the mumble dream
